So? That doesn't count towards the best sellers on Amazon.com... if anything that would deter it.

I saw his book in Barnes and Noble for the first time yesterday. However, I must say that I was confused when I saw it. I did not see a price on it, and on the spine of the book it said "free". I thought "is this really free?" I took it to a worker and asked it it was really free, and he said no, free is the publisher. It is 19.95. It I was a publisher, I wouldn't pick the name "free"! How many people have walked out of stores with their books??

I bought it a few weeks ago after I saw an ad for it on LewRockwell.com. Funny enough, it was the book that converted me from a Rudy Giuliani supporter into a Ron Paul supporter. Everyone should read it.

I wonder if a headline like that would be good press or bad press.

10k? Probably nowhere near that. The rank is probably a combination of sales volume and the fact that it is selling more today than yesterday.

this is what I'm taking about when I say "the combination of all these things eoduces a cult following we need to get to the next tier of support"

Sign waving, canvassing etc. Doesnt mean anything in and f itself however everything combined turns into a popular movement.

dang this is a hard choice.

When you buy the book from Ron it counts as a donation. (and an expense) in the FEC reports.

When you buy it from Amazon you move up in the rankings.

That little bit could be the difference in 11.9 million and 12 million. So it puts us in a tough place.

If we could move this up on Amazon.com, that would be huge! Having this book in the top 10 would do far, far more than a $20 donation to the campaign would. Not only would it be guaranteed, free name exposure, it would also probably garner some media attention.

I just purchased a copy of this book from Amazon. Could the RP "spammers" actually get this to the top 10?

I am a bookseller on Amazon, and I've been watching this phenomenon since the Leno show. This type of verticle growth is alarming! Did you notice that it beat out Obama's "The Audacity of Hope"? I believe this book could be made a best-seller and further propel Dr. Paul's message, BUT 2 things have to happen. It needs to be made more "assessable" to the average Joe, that means a very talented Editor needs to take all these speeches and turn it into a chapter by chapter argument for non-interventionism. Secondly it needs to be distributed by a BIG publisher like Random House. This would bring Dr. Paul's record and ideas into the mainstream dialog.

Anyone who does not own a copy please buy 1 NOW!! (and 1 for a friend). The further we take this the bigger the snowball gets. Also if you planning on buying Naomi Wolf's fantastic book "The End of America: Letters to a Young Patriot" do so at the same time, this way Ron's book will show up under Naomi's (which is currently at #121 (and it is #1 in three sub-sections). This type of cross-promotion REALLY works folks.

Some intelligent reviews on Amazon:

Informative and Compelling, October 4, 2007
By Todd Curtis Decker (Mesa, AZ)

Ron Paul may be one of the most consistent and logical statesman in Washington in United States history. He applies his theory of limited government on all levels, domestic and foreign. His basic belief is that the excessive intervention of government will often be more harmful than helpful. Oddly enough, many members of the Republican Party believe this in domestic issues yet believe in strong, long-term involvement in other countries.

Paul has years of experience and has watched the effects of United States foreign policy for years, especially in the Middle East. This is a great resource on recent history and gives insight into current events.

It was at about 1700 before Leno last night, it was at about 600 this morning.

That's fantastic! :D And yes, it's nice that it's gone up more since then, and it will be good if we can get it to the top. But I find it the most exciting that a lot of people bought this book after seeing him on the Tonight Show. A significant # may have clicked thru from Jay Leno's website, as the book was featured there; and if you clicked on it, it took you to Amazon. :)

MSNBC has recognized his book sales

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/11/01/442963.aspx

The Ron Paul Revolution is apparently translating to book sales today. Paul’s book, “A Foreign Policy of Freedom: Peace, Commerce, and Honest Friendship,” has moved to No. 22 on Amazon’s Movers and Shakers list. His book sales have jumped from No. 594 to No. 294 -- a 102% increase -- in the past 24 hours.

Paul did get some more national exposure Tuesday night as a guest on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Good idea. The more concentrated the time, the more impact. All within the one hour, if possible. I've bought one, but I'll buy a few more at such a time, if it can be organized.

Why not leverage the infrastructure of those doing the money bombs? They can slip a book-bomb around the dates of the money-bombs, without worrying too much about it detracting from the money-bombs. The publicity will be good for it, covering any temporary dilution of one of the money-bombs.
