208$ For my normal license registration this year...

CA will not be my lifelong home.

It's too bad.

I love the area of San Diego, CA however the totalitarian government does a fantastic job of crapping all over us.

It's a newer car. I think after a car is 6 years old or so it goes down.

I never have understood why we pay to have our vehicles licensed? If I have a license why does my car need one?

In 1998, Tim Eyeman (citizen) got a law passed in Washington state via the petition process that made license fees a flat $30. I hardly ever drive my car, so I am really glad he did that. By now, the state and city governments have found ways to get it up to $47, as well as changed the law so you have to replace your plate at something like $48 more every 8 years, but still...

Last year I had to register a vehicle in Maine, 2002, it cost me, for a 2001 Dodge van, roughly $1250.
