This is a serious question in light of the fact that 98% of the coverage on RP after Leno was VERY positive. Even the usual suspects were very light with any criticism.
This leads me to the "crank" question. What the Hell is a "crank"?
That is the only term used by the usual suspects today in the news.
Anyone out there that can answer this for me, it would be appreciated.:)
That is what they call an individual that makes so much sense that it threatens the status quo!

What the Hell is a "crank"?
It's something you call someone who threatens the corrupt, comfortable way of life to which you've become accustomed.

""Crank" is a pejorative term for a person who
1. holds some belief which the vast majority of his contemporaries would consider false,
2. clings to this belief in the face of all counterarguments or evidence presented to him.
The term implies that
1. a "cranky" belief is so wildly at variance with some commonly accepted truth as to be ludicrous,
2. and arguing with the crank is useless, because he will invariably dismiss all evidence or arguments which contradict his cranky belief.
Common synonyms for "crank" include kook and crackpot. The word quack is usually reserved for someone who promotes a medical remedy or practice that they know to be ineffective. The crank differs from the fanatic in that the subject of the fanatic's obsession is not necessarily widely regarded as wrong, or a "fringe" belief."
