Ron Paul Campaign Announces ‘Evangelicals for Ron Paul’
Coalition group aims to energize Christian voters

LAKE JACKSON, Texas –The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee today launched an ‘Evangelicals for Ron Paul’ initiative as part of its growing coalitions effort to energize large segments of the American voting public.

Founding members of the group include the following luminaries:

- Brian Jacobs, a former consultant to the Billy Graham Association and to the Kenneth Copeland Ministries. In his New York Times bestselling book The Preacher and the Presidents: Billy Graham in the White House, Time Magazine assistant managing editor Michael Duffy credits Jacobs with bringing together Billy Graham and then-Governor George W. Bush;

- Bill Spiegel, the Southern Baptist Liaison to the George H.W. Bush 1988 campaign and a member of the senior Bush’s Export Council;

- Sydney Hay, former general consultant to the 2008 Duncan Hunter presidential campaign and was the Republican candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 1st Congressional District of Arizona.; and

- Dan Godzich, a veteran of numerous political campaigns including the Bush-Quayle '88 presidential campaign.

“Evangelicals are hurting as much as any other segment of America during this economic stagnation, which manifests itself in record-high unemployment, barely palatable growth and widespread loss of opportunity. In addition, cash-strapped local governments use land-use privileges to erode the rights of those who wish to establish a house of worship.

Pastors assert that they cannot construct needed churches because zoning boards prefer not to allow properties to be transferred to the nonprofit, and thus tax-exempt, sector,” said Doug Wead, senior advisor to the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.

“There is so much outrage about the economy, the corruption of the political system and rights erosion that Ron Paul is seen as the only presidential candidate who is trusted to deliver the message reliably, consistently and unapologetically,” added Mr. Wead.

Mr. Wead, a presidential historian and New York Times bestselling author, serves as a senior advisor for coalitions on the Ron Paul 2012 campaign. He previously served as a senior advisor to President George H.W. Bush and President George W. Bush.

Evangelicals for Ron Paul founding member Brian Jacobs affirmed his past observations that the unimpeachable integrity of Dr. Paul resonates among conservative Christians.

“Ron Paul is comfortable proclaiming that he accepts Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He is happily married to his childhood sweetheart Carol. And his stance on the sanctity of life is positively unassailable,” said Jacobs, alluding to the fact that Dr. Paul is a retired OB-GYN who personally delivered more than 4,000 babies.

In early June, Ron Paul delighted attendees of the Faith and Freedom Coalition Conference with, among other statements, declarations that mankind’s liberties are derived from God and that “life does begin at conception.”

We do have threads on this, so if you don't get many posts, that is why.

I haven't seen an official press release from the campaign yet. Have they made one?

Thanks...I thought that since the other one is dying a slow death in HT, I would make a new one in GC. :)
