A poll unveiled this week from American Research Group shows that three Republican presidential candidates -- U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas and former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska -- are gaining serious momentum in Iowa, site of the first presidential caucus.

Nice to see them actually mention Paul. The few times I have seen this poll referenced they simply talked about how "amazing" Bachmann was doing.

Heck, they actually put Ron's picture FIRST. I could like that paper.

edit -nvm they describe him as the guy who was a libertarian candidate over 20 years ago because clearly he has done nothing since, or something like that....

the picture and headline are nice, though.

this was a really great read. iowa is so important. ron gained 11 points in 3 months- one point less than bachmann. this is proof we our on the right track so let's keep it up guys/gals. get iowans stoked on ron

Bachmann has made a few foibles that will probably start bringing her down a few notches.

you're exactly right. romney has already burnt out in iowa and is sinking fast, michelle will follow. ron will not lose any supporters and can only gain more. the people are going to have to either pick michelle or paul and when it finally comes down to those two (it already has basically) there's no reason why paul couldn't win.

this here is a bad poll. Key to note here that they only talked to Republicans, and 63% were 55 and over 40% 65 or over. But Bachmann is at 29% in this one Romney at 16% and Paul is at 5%.

these are the crosstabs. They only talked to Republicans who they thought would vote.

Women more than men
18-34
Fiscally Liberal
Socially Liberal

1.8% 35-44 ??? That is a surprising result.

Since you can change parties at the caucus itself to vote in the caucus, I'd say leaving out other parties is a pretty big deal, especially when Ron dominates with independents.

Agreed, and 1.2 % with 35-44 just doesn't seem right at all.

We're really going to have to move our people to the caucuses. If the caucuses were held today, we would not be doing well with the people who typically go to caucuses.

Well, with all these 'all over the place' polls, I'm sure glad Ron nabbed the polling company he did.....
