Big Brother tells me, lacking his glorious leadership of course, that, among other things, the skies would be foul with smog and filth and unfit to breath.

How is it that these vintage color photographs of NYC in the 1940s (a NYC filled with non computerized, non emission controlled cars and trucks, coal burning steam powered trains and vessels, and thriving industry, you see this was before we sent it all to China, contributing it's share of power plant emissions) show a sky that is more blue and more clear than I can recall seeing on a summer day in NYC for a long long time.

I feel like Winston Smith, realizing that we had, in fact, been at war with Eastasia.

Where did you find these?

Would you be able to cite them?

I'd like to bring back up my global warming thread on another board.

Thanks!

btw, that is NOT what NYC looked like when I went there a few years ago. It's very pretty in those pics.

i feel ya, AF.

my Winston Smith moment: how all the libs have gone from disgusted opponents of our global empire and warmongering ways to unabashedly embracing the destruction of as many countries the .mil can bomb (in the name of humanitarianism!) but can't bomb us back.

and how war is no longer war. it is peace.

shiiiiiiiiiit.
