As tragic as the last death was, this guy that almost fell yesterday is just another example of "you can't fix stupid". If he had fallen, he would have been a Darwin Award nominee.

How much money should Stadiums and other public areas spend to prevent people from falling over rails?

As much as they want to.

I'm betting that was pre-meditated. There's a lot of smiling/laughing expressions in the pictures. The guy is not wearing shoes .... which I would think is so that they wouldn't slip off when people were holding on to him.

He did not fall, he was holding on and someone was holding onto him, it was planned. Planned, but stupid.

As much as they want to.

Of course. But I'm sure you could guess that those who are proposing new safety standards are not talking about voluntary upgrades and changes.

Of course not..

See, that's the trick that most progressive types don't understand.

When you ask me how much should baseball stadiums spend on safety rails and such, the answer is highly dependent on who I am. Am I a government official regulating society? In that case, they should spend how much they want to spend. Or are you asking me as a professional consultant who is essentially trying to find a balance between increasing costs for safety measures and decreasing costs from customers who don't attend because they don't feel safe in the stadium?

Or for better grip on the table.

Not a very good plan when the guy that grabbed him first was wearing a baseball glove. Yeah, he managed to grab the rail, which is why he didn't go over. How does that make it a plan?

<sarcasm>I think the gov't should pass a law forbidding this kind of behavior and if someone dies at a baseball game doing this, then every fan in attendance should pay a fine to the gov't.</sarcasm> You know there's someone out there in office thinking that for real.

How do you explain the HD photography from 2 separate angles? Right time at the right place or setup?

There are a lot of people with cameras there. No doubt a couple of people were taking pics of the idiot standing on the table.
