Ron Paul scores endorsement, wins taxpayers' straw poll

July 11, 2011

Ron Paul has had a few decent days in New Hampshire, scoring the endorsement of a local lawmakers and coming out on top of a local straw poll.

State Rep. Paul Mirski of Enfield has again endorsed Paul for president. Mirski, the chairman of the Legislative Administration Committee and the Special Committee on Redistricting, supported the Texas congressman in 2008. He said Paul is the only candidate who consistently fights for small government principles.

On Saturday, Paul won a straw poll held by the Coalition of New Hampshire Taxpayers. Here are the results:

Ron Paul 63
Rick Santorum 20
Michele Bachmann 17
Herman Cain 17
Mitt Romney 14
Tim Pawlenty 12
Gary Johnson 11
Thad McCotter 3
Jon Huntsman 1
Newt Gingrich 0
Andy Martin 0
Paul is in Iowa today where, according to his Twitter feed, he spent the morning having coffee with supporters in Des Moines.

Thank you. The media has been EXTREMELY quiet on this straw poll, which actually means something, while touting the Cain forum straw poll set up in Nevada. It is discouraging, to say the least.

It did get a mention on Fox, which was surprising. Overall, though, it has been downplayed.

Awesome, Paul is a friend of mine. Glad to see he is backing Ron Paul again.
