On a number of occations here I have seen people be inspired with a great idea. These people will often say something like, "Somebody should start a website to do blah, blah, blah" and then the idea dies.

We need to grow these ideas.

We need to act on these ideas.

The best person to act is YOU. The person that comes up with the great idea, the person that has the inspiration is the person that should create that solution.

Here is one way to do it. Go to Wordpress.com (http://wordpress.com/) and signup for a FREE blog. They have great software that is easy to use. I will see if I can create a tutorial to help speed up the training.

Wordpress not only gives us a great FREE tool, but their network seems to get great Google results. There seems to be nothing that can't be done with one of their blogs. I have started 5 so far. Easy peazy lemon squeezy!

Get involved!

Yes, that too.

Blogs are a great way to document subjects, such as media bias or foriegn policy blunders. Blogs can reach 1000s of people a day.

Human to human is always great and irreplacable. The web is a compliment to that.

I will do what I can to help train anyone interested. It is easier than you think.

Off topic, but are you familiar with any web design beside Wordpress? Like Dream Weaver? Curious for a personal website project of mine--I might need someone who is more tech savy then myself to assist--for cash of course.

Its odd you posted this. I was thinking the other day about starting a blog but have no idea how to go about it.

Start at wordpress.com and pick a url.

Once it is created you have a few basics to focus on:

Pick a theme
Create Pages
Create Posts
Create Catagories for your Posts

We could do a Skype session and I can show you exactly how.

P.S.
I just found this youtube wordpress tutorial:

The websites I have created were always using free tools. In 2007 I used Microsoft Office Live Small Business. I have some good experience but I am not any website designing pro. I have never used Dream Weaver. What are you looking to acomplish?

The negativity that is now part and parcel of these forums is also a good reason why I don't bother pre-announcing anything any more. Just DO IT.

One great component about a wordpress blog is that is easily allows us to spread messages through social media. You can instantly SHARE a post. This is important.

I have had very good luck with the products that CoffeeCup software (http://www.coffeecup.com/)sells. (And that's not a referral link.) They're user friendly, and their forums are chock full of people who are far more experienced than me. I don't think there's a real substitute for education and experience, but if you want to hit the ground running, they're a good place to start.

So here is a new blog I started for another member here last night:
http://ronpauldelegates.wordpress.com/

It took me 36 minutes to put it together.

I will do another one for any other member, just ask. I will create it and hand it over. What is your idea?

I like this. Wordpress is easy to use and the Internet is replacing the MSM. But if you create a site, you want people to be able to find it when they do a search. So it's important you understand a little bit about SEO (search engine optimization). If you read the following articles and follow the advice within, you're guaranteed to reach people. It's as simple as searching for and adding Wordpress plugins in most cases. Please check these links out if you're serious about starting a blog.

I got some blue republican cards today from someone at the Manchester pub crawl. They look great and I have several people in mind for them already. Thank you for acting on your hunches.

Good advice here. There will always be negative nancy's saying you can't' do this or that, because they never envision themselves doing it.
