Amazing stuff. Then read below...

We need to jump on this.

I just registered http://BlueRepublican.org

I'm looking for some former democrats and others, that would like to build a Democrat-centric Ron Paul website to facilitate this terrific article's premise.

Please email me at info@RonPaulFlix.com if you'd like to be a part of this.

Going to learn correct grammar, spelling, and cease being so negative and suspicious? Are you a cop or lawyer? You sound like one.

First thing someone has to say is 100% negative. Amazing!

Heh, a popular article for reposting today, it seems: ;)

Good article to send to your Independent or Democratic friends... (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?302201-Good-article-to-send-to-your-Independent-or-Democratic-friends...)
A HuffPo piece on why Dems who are against war and for civil liberties should vote 4 Paul (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?302208-A-HuffPo-piece-on-why-Dems-who-are-against-war-and-for-civil-liberties-should-vote-4-Paul)
A perfect plea from the left, to the left, for Ron Paul (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?302249-A-perfect-plea-from-the-left-to-the-left-for-Ron-Paul)
HuffPost buries pro Ron Paul editorial (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?302241-HuffPost-buries-pro-Ron-Paul-editorial)

Not that I think it doesn't deserve the attention; it's a very good article. Just a little funny that it gets so many original posts, but not much activity in terms of responses on any particular thread.

I think you're right. 124 LIKES in a few hours. I have never seen a fb page grow so fast!

I jumped on this idea because it's already what I am doing with our meetup here in Boulder. I think this is going to blow up so big, it will undermine Obama's base. And win Dr Paul the nomination!!

Great article!!

Idea for the bluerepublican.org site - a link to a resource that shows a map of states that have Open Primaries (Democrats don't need to Register Republican) and closed Primaries (with information on how and when to re-register). I think I remember seeing this sort of map before, I'll try to find it in the meantime...

This is a great idea. If Dems jumped ship, then BO would have to end the wars to win his base back.

Just to clarify for California. It seems like the Open Primaries amendment from 2010 Prop 14 applies to all primaries except the presidential race.

Don't let the negativity wear you down. You deserve credit for being proactive in an important area.

Some key things ...

Don't expect a lot of open support for the idea. The last thing Ron Paul needs to win a GOP primary is "Hey look, he's loved by Democrats!" That said, McCain was under consideration as a VP for Gore before he took the nomination. One of his selling points was that he could work both sides of the aisle.

Pay attention to the open primary states. While getting people to change registration would be great, I don't see it happening en masse.

Keep things issue focused ... then let the issues point towards Ron Paul as the solution.

Be careful not to sell it in a way of putting down Obama, but giving them a choice between Obama and an anti-war Republican.

Attacking Obama puts Dems on the defensive as they most likely voted for him.

Some may like Obama more than Ron Paul but prefer to hedge their bets if Obama should lose.

I'll acknowledge that your warning should be given serious consideration. But if worded carefully, I don't think that putting down Obama will turn off those independents/Democrats that we're looking for. The important thing is to not implicitly or explicitly criticize a vote for Obama in 2008. I voted for Obama in the general in 2008. Probably a not-insignificant number of us did. And most of us shared a lot of the same concerns, hopes, and intentions (most notably those in the article). The key is that we have been disappointed; our good intentions have been disrespected and abused, and that should and does upset us. And we will do something about it...

...We'll vote for Ron Paul!

Why when I type in 'blue republican' in the facebook searchbox,I get results for pages with other names and maybe 10 members and not the blue repulican page with 898?

EDIT: The search worked 5 out of 10 times.I logged out and then back in for the last 2 searches and it worked neither time then.

Could you share a couple of videos I made with the direct intention of recruiting Independents and Democrats to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries? I think they work great for the target audience, and Robin seems to be the intellectual leader of this "Blue Republican" movement. Hopefully, they would get spread around.

Horrible.

The campaign shoud avoid this like the plague until the general, it will alieniate voters in Iowa bigtime.

I can see it coming (like another poster said), the last thing we want is the media running with the theme (andh they will) 'ron is the candidate democrats love'. Same applies with the 'pot voters' and the 'prostitution voters', etc. All these groupie voting blocs are dangerous.

I completely disagree. Getting disaffected Dems and indies to register as Republican to vote for him can only be a good thing. Sorry, but he does appeal to many types of people, and the more that register as Rs to vote for him, the better. I'm working on it, have convinced a few people so far.

Thanks OP for posting.

There are a bunch of scared "lesser of two evil voters" out there in the Republican camp who are only looking to defeat Obama, showing them how a "Republican" can actually use Dems/Indys to defeat the O-man and give liberty a shot in the arm is very useful.

So far l.o.t.e.v.'s have only known a big tent as offered them by McCain and Romney types -'Bout time they hear of another strategy.

EDIT: Has the term lotevs been used yet? Has the hula hoop been invented yet?:D
