US warning of plot to implant bombs inside passengers

The White House said Wednesday there was no danger of an imminent attack on airplanes after reports that terror groups were mulling implanting bombs into the bodies of passengers.

The assurances came after news that the US administration warned airlines that extremist groups were considering surgically implanting explosives into people to try to beat tight airport security measures.

Passengers flying to the United States could now face even tougher screening measures, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, Nicholas Kimball, told the Los Angeles Times.

"These measures are designed to be unpredictable, so passengers should not expect to see the same activity at every international airport," Kimball said, adding existing methods could not detect plastic explosives under the skin.

"Measures may include interaction with passengers, in addition to the use of other screening methods such as pat-downs and the use of enhanced tools and technologies."

White House spokesman Jay Carney confirmed that officials from Homeland Security and the TSA had been in contact with airlines.

"The action they took in briefing air carriers and foreign partners to provide greater insights into recent intelligence indicating continued interest of terrorists to target aviation did not relate to an imminent or specific threat," he said.

"Terrorist groups have repeatedly and publicly indicated interest in pursuing ways to further conceal explosives and we continue to evolve just as the threat does," he added.

"In other words, this is the idea that terrorists have been looking for other ways to circumvent security measures in order to target aircraft. It's not at all surprising."

American Airlines and US Airways refused to comment.

But security at US airports has been ramped up over the past decade since Al-Qaeda militants hijacked four US planes on September 11, 2001 and plowed two of them into the World Trade Center in New York.

A third plane hit the Pentagon in Washington, and the fourth crashed into a Pennsylvania field after the passengers overcame the hijackers.

There have been several attempts to blow up US-bound airlines, including on Christmas Day 2009 when a Nigerian man was arrested for allegedly carrying plastics explosives stitched into his underwear which he planned to ignite on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.

The trial of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab on terror charges is set to begin in October.

More fear mongering. If these terrorists actually did try to surgicaly implant bombs and such, they'd be easily spotted due to appearing "sick" what with the body fighting the forign object like any infection. These globalists are getting sloppy, then again the American people are easily duped see the current POTUS as exhibit A.

even better, they have non-invasive bomb sniffing machines. they have been using them in some airports for close to a decade now.
you step into the booth, it puffs some air at you, then smells it.
no scanning, no radiation, no dog-handler error, safe and noninvasive

I'm of the opinion they stopped giving out peanuts on planes less because of allergies and more because they have a tendency to create such explosive gas with some people.

Who? Who?

Where are the fucking terrorists? If we have such a problem with "extremist groups" and terrorists, then where the fuck are they??

One would think they would at least come up with one "terrorist" with sutures and explosives located under them, before going to such lengths.

I was patted down at the Sacramento airport a few days ago. It wasn't so bad. Of course, I can rarely get another human to touch me outside of my annual physical.

Everything the TSA does, someone could get around anyway. The only thing this crap does is screw over law abiders. Same thing as the issue with gun laws or DRM in video games. But TSA is the worst of all by far.

No agency I hate more, even the IRS isn't as bad as the TSA.

All kidding aside for a moment....for me, nothing speaks to tyranny more than this issue. And nothing saddens me more about the average American who would tolerate this kind of invasion of their personhood. It is a telltale sign that tptb are winning.

Not really. You can have explosives implanted and have to inject yourself with something to set them off, or even take the contained and separate gel/liquid from one implant and inject it into the other, shake vigorously... and kaboom. The body does not reject all foreign things implanted into it. It's also not like sick people don't regularly fly, etc..

This, though, doesn't get resolved by anything short of each and every person lying down for a full-body scan, complete with medical records indicating you are allowed to have whatever implants or artificial body parts you have in you. It will get to the point that you must arrive the day before your flight, get screened (it'll take awhile) and then hang out in the post-security area once you are "cleared." Hell, you might even have to spend the night at the airport hotel, and then pass through a metal detector just to be sure you're not sneaking silverware on board.

Just put everyone in explosive-proof cylinders for the entire flight. Much easier and relatively more convenient.

Now that's an interesting idea. add a parachute and individual ejection system and an infinite number of destinations become possible.... :)

Speaking of bombs in the body - you know those mules that swallow condoms of coke? - what next: Would you like ex-lax or ipecac?

Yeah, and if they suspect a person of being a "terrorist", they can press a button and say, "You're fired."

That makes a lot of sense.
