In the 2008 election cycle I was amazed at all of the video's being made some were very good. Imagine if they aired on National TV we thought. Well in 2012 they actually can be. GoogleTV has made that possible. Please watch the video below to see how it is done.

Some supporters have money but no computers skills making videos type ads, some people have amazing video making skills but no money, combine these two groups and BAM you could run an amazing AD campaign for Ron Paul in 2012, by the people for the people at no cost to Ron Paul.

Here are some ads that could have run, maybe with some tweaks they still might.

This could be the biggest breakthrough in grassroots in 2012, imagine hundreds of different 30's second ads made by different supporters on National TV.

So once a person is maxed out on donations to Ron Paul can they spend there money
on Ads independent of the official campaign. All these awesome YouTube videos could have some real potential.

I think the biggest hurdle will be that most of the grassroots ads contain copyrighted material and you won't be able to run them without changes or permission.

The problem with this idea and all ideas like it is that the FEC requires political ads to say who paid for them, etc. For small amounts just saying "Grassroots activists, but as more and more people pay for the ads, you will need a registered group with the FEC as well as somebody to keep records as there will probably be an investigation into the ads.

Great idea. It inspired me to register a domain www.RegisterForRonPaul.com where I hope to direct relevant voters via a targeted grassroots ad campaign using the method described in this thread. I'll keep y'all posted once I get it set up. Anyone know if there is a similar resource already available on the web? I saw the list at the Daily Paul and will use that list. Any advice appreciated.

I love these spots!!! This is the kinda ad that will have people talking around the water cooler. These messages are powerful, each in their own respect. Sending a clear message. I remember the one with CCR from2008. Don't think John Fogerity owns the rights to his own music from CCR but this is one of my favorite.

So basically what you're saying is they wont allow us to run these ads? You're not suggesting we get permission from "the man" to try and defeat "the man" are you???

I brought this up in a previous thread but everyone ignored it: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?300696-Grassroots-TV-ads-for-Iowa-It-s-on&p=3366785#post3366785

I think google ads does not do political ads. I use them and thought I read it somewhere in the t&c

Both Deb and I posted this month ago and there's an entire organized thread of people running with this already....excused from using the search function, I guess?

Yea, because we've already discussed it and there's a thread and group already getting it off the ground. You didn't use the search function and you're way behind the curve

Go chip in to the project!

What if it was selling a product.. like a specific kind of mini-blimp inflatable balloon? ;)

Yes. You need to create a PAC - just created a thread for that. I have also created a thread about using negative ads as the primary function of such a PAC. Though I think having a big long thread has its advantages, having multiple ideas bouncing around in separate threads is not a negative by any means.

Other thread is approaching 30 pages I believe....just saying a simple search function would have added steam there to these ideas already proposed :o

The man has a big stick, and being confrontational will only get us thumped. We need to act smart and defeat him at his own game.
