assume Ron Paul wins the nomination, and Obama is the Democrat

what prevents a Thai or Venezuelan result.?

Thaksin and Chavez were both freely elected; the poor love the handouts. In Thailand the government is going to give every student a free lap top.

I just don't see the takers giving up food stamps, medicaid, medicare, pell grants, and there are more takers than makers now.

Democracy has always been about who can bribe the most voters.

I hate to say it, but the vast majority of Americans don't want freedom. They've been raised and conditioned to love the State and believe that it is a moral good that must use violence against one segment of the population in order to pay off another section.
