Ron Paul on 2nd Quarter Fundraising: ‘I’m in this Race to Win’

... the Texas Congressman had every reason to celebrate his 2nd quarter achievement as unofficial figures (of as much as $4.5 or $4.7 million) had him beating former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty’s and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman’s 2nd quarter numbers. Pawlenty raised $4.2 million and Huntsman raised $4.1 million.

Paul professed to his supporters that while the success of his 2nd quarter fundraising efforts was a reason to celebrate, “now is no time for complacency. After all, I’m in this race to win!” Paul added that he will continue to “raise more money and earn more voter support.”

Did anybody see this?

This is about Pawlenty

UPDATE:

The campaign said not all of the $4.2 million is primary money. Aides said the campaign has been raising for both the primary and the general election because they expect to win the GOP nomination and want to be ready to take on President Obama.

Yeah, I posted that yesterday. And to anyone not clicking the link, that refers to Pawlenty, not Ron.

If he somehow managed to get the nomination, that's when you know the game isn't 80% rigged, but 100% rigged. No one that far back in the polls with weak fundraising should "expect" to get the nomination. I know he's just trying to play the part, but like I said, if his confidence is based in reality, then he's been given promises we don't know about.

I think Huntsman or Perry is going to get the backing at this point. Unless they don't catch on. In which case Romney remains the fallback of the banker class.
