I guess it's never to late to introduce oneself.. ;)

People who know me since i'm a little girl, know that my dream is to move to America, and they were used to hear me saying this since I'm able to speak.. ;) So, one year ago i realized that i have, i need to realize this dream if i don't want to "die" in this socialist, and boring country which is mine (hmm.. no not mine !) France, have you ever heard about this country ??

Well, I awoke one day, removed the wear-blinckers i had in front of my eyes, and asked to myself.. :" well Chris, why do you feel so bad, each year, each moment, why don't you enjoy to go to work.. and why are you so depressed ? What are you going to do to feel good.. huh ?" I also realized this sadness existed when my mother told me one day, "Christelle, you don't smile like you did before, you look so sad all the time".. "Indeed, mom, i'm sad", but i didn't know at this very moment why i was. Now, I know it ! And i will enjoy life, love it and i'm determinated to move my body, heart and soul in the good country. I knew America was in my heart since a long long time, I'm used to say, my heart is american but my body is not in the good place...

Since I discovered Ron Paul, this american heart beats faster, I have goose bumps each time i hear him, his ideas, and his determination prove that one human can save a country, his courage should show people that everything on earth is possible, Ron Paul is the man, no sorry, THE MAN, who can save America, this country i sherish so much.. I am a believer, I also believe in the Law of attraction, I also think when people "work" and join their hands together for a same cause, in this case, Liberty, nothing can't stop them. Ron Paul knows what to do, he knows his country, he is the man of the constitution, he knows what people need just in a simple way : bringing prosperity, property and peace in life.

Humans are not on earth to suffer, they are not on earth to do war just to satisfy a government of liars. They are not on earth to obey to tyrannic rules. Humans are on earth to use their individual right, their natural right, to live in peace and defend themselves when they are in danger.

Well, I try to remain positive, and as soon as my father passed, I knew I had nothing more to do in here. I also realized that the man who shared my life since several years had not my ambition, and he actually became my roommate just because of a funds problem. I explained to him, that I'm not on earth to be so bored, without nothing interesting to do, and that passion is what makes me go on in life, in everything i do, I'm am here physically, but my spirit is somewhere else.. my goals, my beliefs, my ideals were completely opposite of his, and I'm definitively against this expression : "opposites attract each other" !! no way ! It's a rule that only works for ionic bond, not for humans.

Well, i'm not here to expose my life, but want to say that everyone deserve to have life they wish, mine is not here but in America.. It's time to wake up, for me and for American people, may i say, move your ass !.. hey ! I move mine.. so . .. lol ! and A REVOLUTION BEGUN !!

Well, not just the holidays -- the women tend to be a bit more sophisiticated also. ;)

I'm guessing that having role models like Marie Antionette and Joan d'Arc doesn't hurt.

well, you're probably right saying they (we) are a bit more sophisticated, even if it's not proven, but being sophisticated with a Joan D'Arc spirit or heart is complementary. :)

I realize connecting dots is unpopular but, just because it is SUPER IMPORTANT ethically and fiscally, kindly cross-reference this sentiment with a thread about cutting Veterans' Benefits, in the Opposing Candidates forum:

Christelle, your post brought tears to my eyes. It's amazing the impact Ron Paul has had on people. Just amazing. My father's family is from Nevers. They escaped with 3 other families to Canada during the Franco-Prussian war. They were wine and brick makers. They founded the little town of Sandwich in Ontario and the four families intermarried. Almost the entire town is related in one way or another.

My maiden name is Robinet, which as you know, means tap, or faucet.

Indeed Teacherone. It's true, I probably have a picture too idylic of your country, and can't explain why, but all i can say is that i have never seen people doing such things you all do for your liberty. In France, when I'm mad at a system, people just say to me : "hey, what do you want we do ? you can't fight against everything, Christelle.. it's like that". Nobody intends to do anything.. they only sustain the life government give to them.
And I'm sure French people have forgotten everything about France history (or they ignore it) : "The only thing we learn from history, I am afraid, is that we do not learn from history." Ron Paul

I'm pretty sure that when we are convinced to fight for a good, great cause, this fight is respectable and worthy.

Thank you for your welcome.

Christelle

At first i will try not to have a "broken english".

Do you mean you have no hope ? I'm confused... if you didn't have, you would not support the cause of Liberty and Ron Paul either...

Well, when i said "I've never seen people doing such things you all do for your liberty", I meant about the way Ron Paul supporters do everyday to spread the word about a man they believe in, how they support him, how they love him, its also the way some of you stand up in front of cops when they try to intimidate them abusing their power, what they do to make people know Ron Paul and his ideals... and the Money bomb ...

I just try to compare with my country, just telling you : do you know what people do in France for their liberty ? Absolutely NOTHING.

Just asking french people not to fill up their car for a week-end, because of the high price scares them. Asking a cop why he wants car papers makes them sweat, And sure that if a french Ron Paul would exist, French people wouldn't put any stickers of him on their car, they wouldn't do any video of his meetings at all, they wouldn't do anything to spread the word.. in here it's each man for himself... ! A Money bomb doesn't exist in France, and in case of it was, anybody wouldn't give a cent for a political man. Ask a French to do a Revolution... just the word makes them panic !

My best friend is mad at me about my Ron Paul passion ! She doesn't understand my point of view and told me to delete my account here plus stop talking to 'virtual' american friends. She said she will support me when I will move and understand that I don't feel good being in France but for now she told me that this fight does not concern me ! All my friends are against me, and think that it's ridiculous. :(
I cried for days .. but I realized that it doesn't help me and that will probably make them win.

Are Best friends not supposed to try to understand without having any judgement ?

I think those that love you are the ones who often are your harshest critics. They often believe that they are protecting you or sometimes they just don't want to admit that what you are saying is the truth. Honestly, I have lost friends and family because of this movement. I wish it did not have to be that way but it has been. They refused to understand my side of the argument and they felt that I had lost what few marbles I had to begin with. The rest of my family and friends have slowly come around. Even my Mother in Law, who had not voted since the 70's, showed up at my house one day with a Ron Paul bumper sticker on her car. She argued for months and months and months that all of my lecturing and activism and hope did not matter at all. In reality it was herself that she was trying to convince. She was looking for excuses to stay apathetic and keep her head buried in the sand. I could on for awhile with stories just like that one from my personal life but I think you get the point. If this is what you truly believe and you know that you can make a difference than don't give it up even when the people you love the most turn their back. They are either just trying to protect you or they are trying to deny the obvious to protect themselves. Only your love for them and your insistence on making them open their eyes will make that change. Keep your chin up Christelle, it has been a long, hard fight for many of us and we still have thousands of miles yet to go!

Christelle
07-12-2011, 06:57 AM
You're right Joe, at least I hope that her attitude is only a way to try to protect me .. but I'm wondering what does she want to protect me from ?

I'm not afraid of losing friends, knowing they spend their time to criticize my life and my choices. Those have nothing to do in my life and I don't expect them to understand me. The better would be them to be actor of their life and not spectator of mine. ;)
They will maybe understand one day, and hope I will be here to tap on their shoulder and wink at them. For now they are just too stubborn and proud to admit they're wrong (or worse..to think of the eventuality that maybe they are not right !) :)

I know why I fight and what I want to do with my life !

;) Joe, I always keep my chin up !! ^^

How very . . . PROMPT you are to my post, tho the thread has long been idle.

I don't go on in life with septicism.

Once again, if you are sincere, you will understand why I doubt your sincerity.

The only Adults I have encountered in recent years, plural, who are not skeptical are Ignoramuses, Ostriches, the quietest & most self-involved of the Silent Majority, and the most hypocritical & self-righteous of the IT'S ALL IN GOD'S HANDS Believers (or Slackers, depending on point of view).

My philosophy remain and will remain : "do whatever you can to live according your convictions to know peace in life and mind".

It's a good read, I know. Noble goal, too. But I find its adherents are largely OUTTA HARM'S WAY.

I encounter LOTS of self-described Christians and "spiritual but not religious" people who ALSO feel they need only know peace in their own lives and minds. Howz THAT workin' out for proverbial LEAST AMONG US, about whom anyone claiming spirituality MUST be concerned?

I don't try to prove anything to anyone. Believe or not believe, swallow greedily or sip little by little.. finally the bitter tastes disappear as soon as you trust in yourself.

Yeah? And I got a country crammed with gullible, attention-deficit people who don't oblige ANYONE to prove ANYTHING to ANYONE. You DO see the problem.

There is in politics, including message boards, the same YEAH, RIGHT component that underpins Market Analysts assigning, incredibly, a PERCENT OF REAL to numbers.

Let me you to know, that I don't understand why you doubt my sincerity. I don't know you, you don't know me.

If I had been sceptical in life, believe me I wouldn't have the mentalily and determination I have today. I'm not Ignoramuses, far from being one ! Ostriches, just put their head in the ground not to see what happen around and rather staying in ignorance. Your judgements are your point of view, but without knowing people, please don't rap them out, just because you don't trust in them.
Permit me to ask you : do you really think that people, in politics notably, are constantly sceptical and always full of doubts ? Do you think people who support RP are sceptical ? These two Questions for you make me be sceptical about your answer for sure !

I dunno if poster ERIC22nd said it first, but he's the first I ever heard "say" this:

Additionally, ME, if I screwed up the courage to make an elaborate introductory post on a "foreign" board, and an Older Member publicly doubted my sincerity, I sure as hell wouldn't fire off an "at first glance" response that focused on language skills (to make Older Poster look like bully) AFTER Older Poster clearly and carefully attached the adjective CHARMINGLY to "broken English".

As to the OP, welcome, and glad to see your posts. I've enjoyed talking to you in the chatroom, and know you're not some kind of starry-eyed newb trying to pounce on foreign men, despite grumbles to the contrary. I'm heartened by foreign support for Dr. Paul. I'm glad that there is even the tiniest bit of an impact outside our borders, and that you are always so willing to brainstorm and assist with grassroots ideas. Money may not travel well overseas, but ideas are not yet regulated by our ridiculous election funding laws.

The US has had a great marketing team for years, and it paints a hyperbole when it comes to our way of life. I still see the "American Dream" as something to aspire to, and the overlegislation at the Federal level as something to tear apart. I'm on here to help elect Ron Paul, rather than to tear down a poster with a low count and lord over them with cries of being "an old member" who's seen the unfortunate menfolk fall victim to the Pied Piper of Cougar Town.

Stop loving me ! ;)

End of the debate

Exactement.

Were you in any way feeling you needed someone ELSE to defend or protect you? It didn't seem so to me.

Then why keep responding? What an odd thing to do when you believe the debate is over!

How do YOU figger in the exchange?

How did such a good thread turn into this???????????????????????

I am not quite understanding why Christelle is being ripped on here.

NOWHERE was Christelle-or-Whoever "ripped." But you'll surely agree that hyperbolically laudatory remarks about America are kinda hard to take seriously at present. The POINT is that, for people who call people SHEEP, #Libertarians DO fall for a lotta rhetoric not backed by . . . anything. MOREOVER, there is a highly selective WARMTH FACTOR to "welcomes" around here. And no, MelissaWV, I'm NOT talking about MY welcome.

You know good and well that if someone had identified as an Undecided Male still clinging to what MelissaWV has labeled the HYPERBOLE OF MARKETERS, the reception would be SUBSTANTIALLY less gracious.

Good Lord people, I would think if she was trying to connive a man, I'd have been top on the list given the end of our exchange, and nothing remotely like that happened. Some of the people here give the word 'paranoid' a whole new meaning.

I guess it's never to late to introduce oneself.. ;)

People who know me since i'm a little girl, know that my dream is to move to America, and they were used to hear me saying this since I'm able to speak.. ;) So, one year ago i realized that i have, i need to realize this dream if i don't want to "die" in this socialist, and boring country which is mine (hmm.. no not mine !) France, have you already heard about this country ??

Well since I've been a member since January 08 and never introduced myself. I'm Keith, I am a 30-something science teacher at a public school and an adjunct biology professor for the local university. I was geeked in 08, disappointed when RP first said that he wasn't going to run again, but then fired up when he decided to run. Even more excited when he said he isn't running for reelection but instead focusing souley on winning the presidency. I will support him in anyway shape or form...and am looking forward to the establishment taking a fall and hopefully taking the MSM down with them.

Wow, Christelle, I didn't know Cheapseats was being such a jerk to you. She tends to be surly in most of her posts elsewhere, but she goes too far. Hence the ban, I suppose. And +rep to Melissa for defending you. Hope all is well. Wish you were here.

Hi Christelle. I just came across this thread, kind of late. Welcome to the forums, sorry about cheapseats, etc, etc.

As I read your original post, I wondered about the following:

1) Have you ever been to the U.S, eg on vacation? Perhaps your view would be different then.

2) What is preventing you from coming to the U.S? immigration laws? financial situation? something else?

This is just curiosity, so feel free to tell me "none of your business".

And an observation: It is never the place so much as the people we are with that determines our happiness in a particular situation. So if you value freedom and liberty as being amongst your highest priorities, then even in america you will have a hard time finding like-minded people. We are definitely the minority. Seek those people out. Joining the RPF is probably a good start.

Good luck to you.

Thank you Danda. Don't be sorry about Cheapseats.. :p

1) No i have never been in the U.S (only in my head !) and when it will happen, i don't think my view will be different. "I'd rather "die" in America than living in France" :(

2) And yes this is a financial situation that is preventing me from coming, but I hardly work on this.

Hey, see, I didn't tell you :" none of your business !" ;)

Freedom and Liberty are one of my highest priorities, it's true. If french people would be ready to accept being free, I would surely fight with them. Don't ask me why, fighting for this country doesn't interest me, it would take too much energy to open people mind.. Like I said French people are blind, idiots and think their liberty exists just obeying to the laws and being "docile". Wait, no ... they even don't talk about "liberty" or "freedom", I don't think they know what it is, I don't think they have read human rights once in their life, and "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité" ... What is that ??? :toady:

I know like-minded people are a minority, but I'm convinced that this minority of determinated people can bring a majority of results.

I accept all the luck that is given to me.
