I've been thinking recently, one thing holding a lot of the older folks i talk to back from supporting Ron is this idea that he is "soft on terrorism" or the "isolationist" label. Without going into a condescending discussion of what isolationism actually means, what blowback is, etc. i usually find it very difficult to put these fears to rest. the issue is just too complex and too deep to explain in a reasonable amount of time.
one thing that i have found to be very effective though is highlighting ron's support with the military. especially veterans of our most recent wars.
are there any sites, organizations, or resources i could offer to prospective supporters to corroborate what i am telling them? people have a hard time believing ron got the most military donations last cycle. a "veterans for ron paul" web site or anything of that nature could be most useful...

I just separated from active duty and literally all my friends that were in didn't believe in the wars and they all supported Ron Paul.....
The support is definitely out there and the numbers show it.... When it comes down to it... what are we dying for??? Somehow we got sidetracked and went into Iraq, and now Libya, Yemen, etc.... I'm sorry I don't feel terrorized, and most people (civilians and military) are sick of being over there. There's no pride anymore... There used to be a sense of pride and civilians respected you after 9/11 happened... Now I rarely admit I was in because it's borderline embarrassing because of all this crap that has happened.
All my brothers and sisters want to come home to their families.... they don't want to build an empire.

Many people in the military, including myself, don't believe the US military should be used for military adventurism like we have seen in Iraq and other wars in recent decades.
We support a candidate like Ron Paul who is in favor of a strong DEFENSE (I emphasize that word for a reason- a nation that sticks it's nose in everyone else's business is not in "defense" mode) but who does not favor using the USA as a global police force/meals on wheels.

Look at Mitt Romney's wesbite about people's personal stories about what Obama has done to them. I think that's a great idea and we should have a similar format highlighting actual troops talking about why they support Ron Paul.

I'd like to have a reporter or somebody ask Dr. Paul about the subject of vietnam MIA/POWs and if elected if he would take an interest in making sure anything that has been withheld from the public regarding MIA/POWs in vietnam be uncovered up and disclosed.

Count me in as another military member for Ron Paul.

Can we have a rally or "tea-party" or something on VeteransForPaul theme where we can assemble, hopefully, at least hundreds of veterans at the rally & get some of them to speak a few words on how Ron is right on wars & how they do little to make America safer & how all this militarism actually antagonizes more Muslims & generates more hatred & terrorism against America & so on. I think something like that can do a lot to counter the belief persisting among many mainstream Republicans that Ron is "weak" on defense. Just a thought.

Do you think this is an issue most people are thinking about in 2011?

i agree with that. a "veterans for paul" rally, if sufficiently huge, could draw attention from the media and really makes those talking heads spin in their seats. also a good opportunity to let dr. paul illuminate the difference between "defense" and "offense".

Do you think this is an issue most people are thinking about in 2011?
It is an issue with some fairly vocal groups. eg: the rolling thunder people. Heck, if he said he would it might get him an endorsement from Perot who is/was active in veterans groups. If your question is: Is it the top issue among the general populace? Of course the answer is no. Just something I'd like to hear him respond to.

Can we get over 2000 "likes" on the Veterans for Ron Paul Coalition?
