I have no idea what this regulatory body is, or even if it is regulatory body, there are far too many for me to keep up with, so FWIW:

GRAMERCY — Is the city's first pub crawl ban on tap?

That's the hope of some residents in the bar-laden east side area of Community Board 6, which stretches from 14th to 59th streets.

Members of CB 6's Business Affairs and Street Life Committee discussed a draft resolution Thursday night that would call on various state and city agencies and officials to help them crack down on organized bar-hopping.

"We personally as Community Board 6 can't ban them," committee vice chair Stephen Dubnoff said. "We are asking the city and everyone else to help us stop them. More than that we cannot do."

It was the fourth meeting over several months addressing the issue, which was sparked by the rowdiness that ensued around St. Patrick's Day when Groupon offered an online coupon promoting a three-day pub crawl billed as a chance to drink "copious amounts of beer" and to hang out with "fellow rowdy hooligans."

Really? Of all the other heinous stuff short of consensual homicide going on in that area, they're worried about.....bar hopping?

Hah, both those links really illustrate another point, even living in such "diverse" city as NYC. The left, "our live free and happy friends," are the biggest nanny-statists you'll ever find.

It's BS. Don't fall for leftist propaganda that they're just trying to be nice and make the world a better place. It is their way, or you should leave.

yes bar hopping is serious these days lol

I love the news and what it considers an issue

thats like when bachmann was asked about subsidies within her family and she came back with how president obama had a 70%+ hike in limo services or some b.s. like that.

It leaves you scratching your head asking why...

NYC isn't exactly the place to come and live if you want peace and quiet. These assholes in 'Community Board 6' should just pack up and move to Westchester.

People have been leaving NY the last decade, especially younger folks. I think we've lost 2 congressional seats. It's still a magnet for foreign immigrants and welfarism, it's a complete fiscal mess up in Albany (yet they're more concerned about gay marriage). You'll find either uber-wealthy or poor neighborhoods, that's what it seems like. The middle class is slowly getting wiped out. Socialism is a mental disorder.

Cape Cod, Palm Beach, Coastal Maine, Long Island, Tahoe, the list is endless.

That is the new model: a super small, super powerful, super elite ruling class and the other 98 percent of us or so living in in grinding "service class" poverty.

What do you think the pub owners think of this proposal????

Does the "community board" even care about the business owners?

I am fighting to keep my family in NY... they want to flee to NH, not that I can blame them.

so it is going to be illegal to have a libation at one bar, pay your tab, walk to another bar and imbibe in another libation? are they just going to reintroduce prohibition? Short of that i don't see how you could make it illegal. I guess you could say commerce is not allowed in a bar.

I'm generally a peaceful man, but someone needs to be whacked upside the head with a 2x4. Hard.

Well according to the new study, NY is by far the least free state and NH is the most free state. People even tend to make more money in NH than NY. Heck, the main liberty related complaint I hear about NH is that property taxes tend to be high in NH but they tend to be just as high if not higher in NY.

How odd, and on twitter I just saw an announcement of a national Ron Paul Pub Crawl on July 23. We are all supposed to contact our local meetups and sally forth.

Yes, and we are homeschoolers, our whole extended family, so we have to take this into consideration.

But this is our HOME.. It is not pleasant to think of leaving.
