Hoping to enjoy some time together, while taking in a showing of Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps with his wife, Tania, and daughter, Glenn and his family instead experienced an unfriendly and borderline violent scene. At one point, an angry moviegoer kicked a glass of wine into Tania’s back, and as she got up to walk away, a man shouted, “We hate conservatives here.”


When Glenn shared this experience with his staff this morning, no one could understand why he chose to stay. “All I wanted to do is go out on a blanket with my family and have dinner in the afternoon sun and sit around,” Glenn said.

Tell me about it. My brother and his wife haven't talked to me in over two years, because I disagree with what Obama is doing. Talk about hate, they won't even answer my telephone calls anymore and I never brought up anything political before they lashed out at me.

I was on the blanked directly behind Mr. Beck, and while we did find it amusing that wine was spilled on Tanya & co, I can tell you that it was 100% accidental. My friend was drinking her wine and it tipped over, as wine glasses are wont to do. We immediately helped Tanya & co clean up the "mess" and offered them our napkins, and apologies were made. There was no hostility or animosity in the exchange, and I find it hard to believe that a half-filled glass of wine would be capable of "soaking" anyone, even waif-thin Tanya. Moreover, why would we waste the wine?

I've visited only once and it was by myself thanks to my friend flaking. It was '08 and I had to make it to Yankee Stadium before it was torn down, so I decided to go by myself. I ended up in two political discussions (one at Yankee Stadium and the other at a bar,) but they went much better than yall's.

I did find some animosity while studying abroad in Sweden. Our program coordinator had silly "exercises" for us to go around and strike up conversations about politics with people. He warned me that I would get some backlash (I was the only conservative and he is a Swede who taught at Berkley before going to UA.)

As to Beck's story, he's probably not making it up. He is pretty high up there on the left's most hated list.

You believe in the NAP but would openly use violence against someone just because he has a different opinion than yours? I don't like a lot of what Beck says either, but acting like a child in front of TV or RADIO personalities is immature & does nothing for our cause.
