I really think this article has a point. Most American's can't fathom the idea of a candidate having a firm political ideology and just because he wants or says something should happen doesn't mean it happens the day he gets elected.

Ron's an ideologue with little idea of how to run a campaign or even sell himself...

The "fringe" smear can best be dealt with by running TV ads that focus on the major issues where a majority or near majority agrees with him: government spending, unending wars, and the economy. Preferably these would show Ron Paul strongly stating his position, and a large crowd responding favorably -- people who thought he was "fringe" will have their biases challenged by such an ad. Throw in an ad just introducing him, his family, his background, and a few Texas constituents vouching for him.

Good idea. The campaign has to launch a counter media blitz of their own. At least one of the ads should tackle this question head on!
