UPDATE: The first vote on the Hastings resolution to support the Presidents actions in Libya with the UN has failed by 295 – 123. It received the support of eight Republicans and 115 Democrats. Next up is debate on defunding military operations. (Drones, missiles, etc.)

UPDATE 3: You asked for the list of Republicans who voted in favor and we have an *unofficial* report from our source on the House floor. Here is the list they provided.

8 Rs voted for HJRes68 authorizing limited Libya ops: Dent, Dreier, S.King, P.King, Kinzinger, McCotter, Rivera, Rogers (MI)

Wow, I didn't think McCotter was a warmonger. I guess I was wrong.

So that will be McCotter's Ames Straw Poll niche. Symbolized by bleeding bodies lying in a bombed out home, no doubt, and a caption: The Constitution is important -- but only when there are no people to kill! First things first!

Wow, I didn't think McCotter was a warmonger. I guess I was wrong.McCotter voted for the $50 Billion bailout and another $45 Billion in Tax Credits/Subsidies of the Michigan Big 3.

McCotter is a phony... but I guess he owes a few favors back for $90 Billion, eh?

It would be nice if there was a way redistricting could eliminate most of the NY congressional delegation.

easy to spot the waste that needs to be removed from office.

thats ALOT of dem's to need to find new jobs though.....

are there really that many party voters on both sides simply voting their party and not their districts or if anything their own personally belief and or opinion?

Unfortunately, there will be a lot more than 8 Senate Republicans who vote for the resolution.

I guess this is a good list to start from for C4L to run real constitutional conservatives against. I actually expected to see Boehner's name on the list.

McCotter has been an avid supporter of the United States' involvement in the Iraq War. His continued support for the war has led to some community protest. Several groups have joined together under the banner of "Americans Against Escalation in Iraq" to pressure him into voting to end the war. On July 5, 2007, forty members of the community staged a press conference and a demonstration in front of the congressman's office.[citation needed] Organizers also promised to hold a three-day vigil called "Take a Stand Day" on August 28 in order to convince McCotter that his constituents wanted him to end the war and bring the troops home safely. In late fall 2007, opponents of McCotter hold weekly vigils outside of his Milford office in Oakland County to protest his consistent support of President George W. Bush's policies in Iraq.

To McCotter's credit, at least he opposed TARP.

Not surprised at all to see that POS Peter King on that list.

He's easily one of my least favorite members of Congress, right up there with McPain and Lindsay Graham.
I really hope we can primary him with a liberty candidate.

Amash and Paul voted no; wasn't this to cut offensive spending?

Ron said the exceptions would authorize exactly what the President is doing now.

Ugh. Dent's on this list? Why am I not surprised? I'll probably send him a few letters and try to get my dad to do so, too, as he's against the Libyan war, but liked Dent, unfortunately. Maybe this will at least get him to see the light. I've been working on him and I think I've made a fair bit of progress, especially as my dad doesn't have anyone in mind on the Republican side to vote for... he just wants to beat Obama at this point.
