I recall seeing a graph on here back in 2008 that showed all of the candidates on a graph showing how often they are mentioned in the media and it compared it to google trends showing their online support.

It showed Ron Paul with the highest online support and lowest media exposure. It also showed Obama with the highest online and media support for Democrats (though Obama was still below Ron Paul online).

Any idea where the media chart can be found?

you create it at 'google trends' you put in the things you want to compare, separated by commas.

Ron Paul (blue) Mitt Romney (red) Michele Bachmann (orange yellow)

http://www.google.com/trends/viz?q=ron+paul,+mitt+romney,+michele+bachmann&date=mtd&geo=all&graph=weekly_img&sort=0&sa=N

the bottom is how much media mentions them (but forshortened) and the top is the google searches. the above is the last 30 days (look for drop down menu at right for date period). Cain had a similar one to Bachmann as he came out. All the unknowns do when people first look into them.

Here is the video with the discussion of media v google searches from the last election, but you can use the drop down menu to pretty much replicate the graphic at google trends

As much as I liked and agree with what Jerry Day said obviously the media does not listen to him either.
