We need people to sign up for twitter, too. They follow all sorts of 'supporter accounts' and don't know/follow his official/campaign one in the same numbers. fyi it is @RonPaul

Nice, now they need to revamp the page using FBML, and start to run facebook ads.

^And Sarah Palin currently has 3,156,423 fans on Facebook.

Apparently gone are the days when we dominated the social media stuff. Remember in 2007 when Ron Paul had the most MySpace fans and YouTube subscribers? Paul isn't doing so well on Facebook and Twitter.

So you want to discourage people from trying to up Ron's? You want others ahead of him? A little appreciation for something that is mentioned in the media, however much it is self selected, isn't a bad thing. And M Bachmann has 371,000, as a benefit in part of unilaterally naming herself chair of the tea party caucus after Rand said on the campaign trail he would create one if elected. I have yet to see a new idea that originates with her, of any particular value.

The problem with twitter and facebook is that libertarians revolt against 'antiprivacy' policies, and theirs are two of the worst. A self contained account on an email you use for nothing else in the world is potentially helpful for that.

I suggested a Facebook friend bomb a couple days ago and got about 2 thread comments...A week long event could get 50k-100k more friends. I would make some graphics and plan it for mid July the week before the moneybomb. We could have one in October or November and then another a couple months later.

I think this is a pretty good thing to do. Not a waste of time at all. I would hope we could eventually get it into the millions...

Obama has 21.7 million :(

Just going to say, as someone who followed Rand Paul's run for the Senate from the beginning until the end: always thought the "Facebook friend bomb" in mid-2010 was the stupidest thing to come out of the official campaign.

It didn't work well at all...the premise that you can simply invite your friends to like a politician on facebook and for them to do it isn't very logical.

I think it is a fine thing for supporters to do.... I agree I thought it was a bit lame when Rand's actual campaign did it....

yea, but there are lots of people that have facebook that aren't that active. i'm sure some older people go on maybe once a week and aren't going to actively search out ron paul. it could be a boost for the moneybombs. i would call it a success even if it only brought in a few thousand friends. that isa few thousand people that will now be following the ron paul campaign
