Pretty good interview. Rand said we should take 90k troops out of Afghanistan and leave a strike force of 10k there. He didn't want to specify how long to draw those down. He explained our stance on Libya and said he'd vote against a resolution to approve action there.

A strike force of 10k? For less than 100 Al-Qaeda?

Someone hasn't fully fleshed out his foreign policy. That, or he's pandering to Republicans. Dig that he's openly called for withdrawal of 90k troops, though.

I think he did fine, he showed that we don't need 100k troops when 10k would do the job just as well.

Ah...he actually said less than 10,000. I didn't recall that accurately. :o

Exactly, he wasn't advocating that we absolutely must have 10,000 troops in perpetuity. Just showing that if we would have troops there, wouldn't we want to do it in this way?

Good response by Rand... but look who else is filing a Senate resolution to escalate war in Libya... USUAL SUSPECTS

CNN: 06:58 PM ET Rand Paul's Libya resolution (http://situationroom.blogs.cnn.com/2011/06/21/rand-pauls-libya-resolution/)

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, says he will introduce a Libya resolution that says Pres. Obama is in violation of the War Powers Act.
“I don’t think Libya is in our national security interests and I don’t think we can afford to be in a third war,” Paul told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
