"But David Shaff, an administrator at the Portland Water Bureau, defended the decision to empty the lake. "There are people who will say it's an over reaction. I don't think so. I think what you have to deal with here is the 'yuck' factor," "I can imagine how many people would be saying 'I made orange juice with that water this morning.' "Do you want to drink pee? Most people are going to be pretty damn squeamish about that." he said."
$36.000? I consider myself to be someone that is rarely surprised. I am blown away at the supreme stupidity exhibited, and tolerated here. This guy needs fired and sued for restitution. Idiot.

All water eventually mixes and gets recycled through humans, animals, the clouds, rivers, streams, and the ocean. As long as it's adequately treated and filtered prior to use there isn't any problem.

There is no bacteria in healthy pee. Not saying it's good for you, but you could do worse than drink one part urine to 16,000,000 parts water.

No wonder the Mississippi River is so large and overflowing this year, all the politicos took a piss in the lakes up there in MN and the other skilled masters of the lakes and dams had to release all the water!

Imagine, Pawlenty pee, Bachmann pee. Ventura pee. all in the water. Maybe it will make some girl pregnant or something!!!

There is a reason there are traces of anti-depressants etc in L.A. drinking water.

Seriously, though, I read somewhere supposedly Terr-ists are 'weaponizing bodily fluids'. What that means, aids, small pox, eating something nasty, I don't know, but maybe it had something to do with it. But he doesn't mention that. Just 'ewwww'.

Unless you are drinking truely original source water (say rainwater you collect but that can pick up contaminants from the air) you are drinking water which somebody else has used to wash their car, from their toilet, used to clean (their home or factory). Virtually all the water you drink had somebody piss in it somewhere. And the further downstream you are, the more people who have pissed in it.

They say one quart of used motor oil will contaminate 10,000 gallons of water... you see plenty of used motor oil puddles in parking spots, roadways, railways, that rain will push into ground water tables, streams, and lakes.

Apparently a lot if he could not tell if it was water or sewage.

He apologised publicly for his behaviour, adding: "It was a stupid thing to do. I didn't know it was a water supply, I thought it was a sewage plant.

As someone who surfs in the ocean after it rains, I will tell you that used motor oil is the greatest hair conditioner in existence.

Mr Seater had been out drinking with friends when he decided to relieve himself in the open air reservoir at 1.30am.

LOL, and after drinking too. If it was beer (a diuretic with a lot of water), he was probably pissing water that was purer than what was in the lake.

Even the cops think it's ridiculous:

"It's really an unfortunate incident that probably could have been avoided if he had just chosen a bush."

Bigger story here: he was caught by a security camera.

was caught on a security camera relieving himself in the pristine lake.

As more smartphones offer GPS navigation service, TomTom has been forced to compensate for declining profit by increasing sales in other areas, including the selling of traffic data.

uggggggggggggggg. this is disappointing. even if it is in the netherlands.

We are aware a lot of our customers do not like the idea and we will look at if we should allow this type of usage.

i don't think i'd choose to be their customer anymore.

According to the video (found at the bottom of the page at this link) the water is chlorinated before it enters this reservoir.

Huh?

Eight million gallons of water had to be drained from a reservoir in Oregon after a man urinated in it.

Health experts said the incident would not have caused any harm to people in the city of Portland, who are supplied with drinking water from the reservoir.

Where is Oregon again?
