Bachman is at the #1 spot, but Ron is the only other debate attendee in the top-10. Not too shabby. There are some decent articles saying Ron did generate some buzz post-debate, along with bachmann.

Well, I guess rather Bachmann than Romney.

Considering that Bachmann probably got a huge boost from announcing in addition to her debate performance, I'd say Ron did very well here.

CNN was interviewing three undecided voters this morning, and they basically said they were impressed by Michelle and Ron. They interviewed a young guy and played the clip of Paul talking about marriage. The kid said he liked that answer, and that why can't we just have civil unions and get the government out of the way. Ron got a huge boost I think, from that debate.

Listening to CNN this morning and they keep mentioning RP over and over... not so much or at all for the other candidates...

Ron did awesome last night. His first couple of answers weren't direct, but he separated himself many times (in a good way as well) from the pack with the strong commander in chief talk, his take on marriage, and his talk about opting out.

If Obama is to lose to RP, left leaning "liberal" media needs to support RP more so than any other GOP'er.

Bachmann is going to be a problem. She's relatively good looking, she is sharp, she 'seems' more coherent on policy than Palin, and she could be strong with the woman vote. She will be a problem in this election.

No way.. she's going to be a flash then bottom out... see Trump, Cain and then Bachman... wait til she gets called out on the Patriot Act and a former IRS lawyer... nice see used 'tax attorney' instead... the truth will come out.

MB just ANNOUNCED. Each and everyone of them got a spike in searches and in polls right after they announced before negatives were found. Expect MB to go up in the polls for the next week or two, as well.

google trends for 2011

Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty

google trends for the last 30 days

Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty

note, by the way, that Ron's google search interest spikes still PRECEDE his media coverage (media at bottom) whereas Pawlenty's google searches lag media coverage, and in the last bump of coverage, hardly responded at all. Also note that while media has pushed Pawlenty over Bachmann, it has pushed Bachmann over Ron, yet Ron's overall line in google searches stays higher.

You could be right. But I have a gut feeling she is going to gain a lot of popularity. The only people bothered by the Patriot act are us, and REAL liberals, the tea party people and your run of the mill repubs think it's a necessary evil. Beyond that it will be up to how much money and support she could garner. It's a long election cycle.

thanks for posting that raystone.

I was a bit disappointed by the debate last night, it just felt so chaotic... however, seeing these strung together without all of the other distractions, his performance actually was better than my initial impression.

I think he's resonating with people more than many here are giving him credit for... the crowd response was notably more lively.

The two candidates... I think it was bachmann and pawlentyh, both slathering that vetran with praise for his service, was rather sickening. I think the vetran saw right through it too and only out of respect let them puff themselves up. I didn't sense one ounce of sincerity there.

People googled Bachmann, because they didn't know who the hell she was... Once Palin endorses Bachmann, everyone even those who watch American Idol instead of teh debates will know who she is. Get ready, it's coming. Bachmann will quickly become our biggest competition, but she will also treat Ron Paul with more respect than any other candidate.. So the Ron Paul base needs to play nice too. If Ron Paul gains traction, Bachmann will get behind him , and we need Bachmann and Palin supporters to win the general election. So ""Speak softly and carry a big stick; we will go far!""
