I don't care what anybody says, he made a lot of friends in NH with his answer on the eminent domain question WRT the US-Canada electric transmission line.
That's big issue up here right now.

My impression also was that he gained a lot of votes tonight. Also, the whole stage was so much more friendly than '08. 2 different guys say "As Ron Paul says..." at least three times.

Yeah, he hit that one out the park.

My favorite part of his answer was, and I paraphrase a bit
"Did you know we don't actually own any of our land in this country? We actually pay rent to the government..."
Pure, GOLD. :)

My favorite moment of the debate was when he acted very presidential, concise, and determined on his stance to bring the troops home and to stop bombing other countries. I think if any anti-war people were watching he solidified their favor.

I got the link, but it wasn't embedding.
Thanks, I'll look for that Romney quote as well.

Yeah, absolutely, I noticed that as well.
Last time at this stage in the game it was mockery.

I was watching the version of the debate feed with the audience reaction lines.
Ron's domain answer was super, super high. Romney's version didn't do as well until he basically said "drill baby drill," which was the only way his numbers approached Ron's.
I am also heartened by how the lines shot up to near-max for a lot of Paulesque positions, even if other folks were saying them. Bachmann's rant about how there was no reason to have done anything in Libya did quite well, though I know she doesn't believe it.

I don't care what anyone says. Ron did a great job and earned a lot of votes from that debate. Even though it was in a semi-joking manner, I bet when he said that "they haven't even told me how they feel about the Federal Reserve yet" people probably realized..you know what..They havent!! They never talk about any of the important issues like Ron Paul does. I thought the debate was pretty decent for Ron Paul considering all the bogus questions which bare no relevance to a candidacy.

That was one of my favorite moments!
To tell the truth, my favorite moments were:
-When Romney unequivocally stated that the state should use eminent domain for state projects (after every other answer being little more than "get rid of big government!")
-When Cain spent his time putting words out of his mouth and yet saying absolutely nothing
-When Newt all but came out in favor of putting Muslims in concentration camps
-Every time Santorum opened his mouth
Several of the other candidates came off as complete asshats, I think. Geez, even Pawlenty didn't have much other than "I'm a union boy!"
The field's still wide open, and it becomes clearer each time that the only thing the others have right is the look.

No one else loved the part where Romney talked about giving control of Afghanistan back to the Taliban?

I'd say that probably hit home in the high property tax states especially so....of which IIRC NH is a member.

Do you recall the specifics of those RP mentions? I heard Pawlenty say it once for sure, but I missed the others and don't remember what he was talking about.
