Hmmm, let me see...

iPhone, gps tracking and logging to an unknown third part (-1).
iPhone, insecure communications (-1).

Blackberry, secure encrypted communication with no gps tracking (+2)

The iPhone is hip and cool however, I can do without the gps tracking and I prefer untappable communications and maximum privacy. The win goes to the Blackberry. As usual RP was right.

What would be your rating for Android? I was surprised that Android wasn't a choice, as the Android os is the most popular smartphone os currently.

The non-standard java libraries and api for the blackberry is pretty crappy and a pita though.

iPhone is more proprietary and centralized.

I knew there'd eventually be something I disagreed with Ron on.

Yeah. One of them was asked, coke or pepsi? Total dumbass debate it sounds like. Didn't watch it but I saw a summary transcript.

Yeah, it is. If I'm not mistaken, Ron is talking on Lew Rockwell's first-gen iPhone.

I'm not sure what he uses today, but he used to use a Blackberry. 2008 and earlier.

I had a blackberry and have an iphone and now that blackberry does the web better I wish I'd stayed with it. They both suck as phones, and I write too much. The keyboard is much better for me than that virtual picture of a keyboard. Blackberry is MUCH faster communicating extensive information.

I wish I'd even kept my old blackberry and waited for an ipad. The three/four g browsing IS awfully cool.

We must make sure this photo never sees the light of day again! Can you imagine if the media ever put these two together, it would be the end of Ron and maybe Rand! :D

All phones have either GPS or some form that can allow them to be tracked. It's mandatory from the US federal government.

Or he tried it and made an informed choice.

Me,, I hate them all, but were I to choose, it would be an Open Source platform.
