Pass this to the Meetups in these areas right away if you know of any. One of these is going on right now in San Diego!

Good idea/bad idea? Seems like a great idea to me.

I'm as opposed to "alternative medicine" quackery as anyone, but it really is in these groups' self interest to see a Ron Paul presidency. Ron Paul has been a vocal opponent of government telling people which medicines and treatments they can and can not get.

And they are a relatively wealthy constituency... many of whom would probably jump at the chance to support a candidate who they see as on their side.

Well thats big of you but I have to inform you alternative medicine as a rule is very effective and more so in many cases than whaa phrama offers - sorry I am living proof of phramas failures.....yes there are charlatans selling snake oil but most folks become plugged in enough to sniff these out....im all for standardization is possible or more consumer oversight but the FDA has no place anymore doing this as it lacks any credibility. But as a rule you will find chralatns in high places running phrama companies and deceiving the public!

Folks, please let's not argue about alternative medicine. This is an ideal constituency for Ron Paul, and regardless of animosity or praise we might have for alternative medicine, we need fresh supporters, and alternative medicine can provide that.

Klinghardt's office is in Bellevue, Washington. There are several esteemed doctors who work out of that office. Someone badly needs to get some of those new flyers to this office. If they allow them to be left there, people from all over the country would see them and I'm talking people who have some money.

By the way, Klinghardt is world-famous. For those against alternative medicine, you may be interested to know that he is an M.D., board-certified in Orthopaedic medicine, Neurology and has a PhD. on the central nervous system. In addition to being on the cutting edge of alternative medicine.

I was thinking we could work on building a coalition, and getting Ron Paul elected, but I guess we're just going to keep sniping at each other over alternative medicine and science.

Science is sooooo wrong. What is with all the anti-science people on these forums?

What? Quackwatch is anti-science! If you believe what the people at Quackwatch say, you're just like all the sheeple watching Fox News. Do you think pumping people with pharmaceuticals is what is going to make them healthy? Dr. Ron Paul believes in alternative medications and has spoken out against the industry's attemps to ban or regulate them, and also has spoken out against the medical-industrial complex that runs health care in this country.

Stephen Barrett is an idiot and a liar.

Stephen Barrett, M.D., a retired psychiatrist who resides near Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has achieved national renown as an author, editor, and consumer advocate.
...
Neither Quackwatch nor I have any financial ties to any commercial or industrial organization.

At trial, under a heated cross-examination by Negrete, Barrett conceded that he was not a Medical Board Certified psychiatrist because he had failed the certification exam.

This was a major revelation since Barrett had provided supposed expert testimony as a psychiatrist and had testified in numerous court cases. Barrett also had said that he was a legal expert even though he had no formal legal training.
...
During the course of his examination, Barrett also had to concede his ties to the AMA, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
...
“The de-bunker has been de-bunked...Barrett is a shill for the medical and pharmaceutical cartels and his bully tactics and unjustified discrediting of leading innovators, scientists and health practitioners should not be tolerated."

The herbal gerbils are one of the strongest contingencies available. Plus, we have lots of disposable income.

I just sent Ron Paul's Health Freedom Protection Act letter to several of my buddies. We all have downlines of 5-25,000+ people; so this will be quickly making its way to all of our fellow quack QUACKS!

I've learned from selling to always ask "What's in it for them?" If you know any herbal gerbils get this slim-jim in their hands because they are very passionate about this type of stuff. There is a lot in it for them.

This is a very sensible, strategic idea, kylejack. Thank you for making a positive contribution to the forum. Regardless of my opinion toward alternative medicine, I continue to recommend Ron Paul to people who are oriented toward non-westernized treatment.

Sincerely,

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to start this kind of argument. Haha wow.
I have my own concerns about alternative medicine, but any debate that would decrease Ron's chances of getting elected is one that I'm not wanting to engage in, so I'm not going to say anything controversial that might turn someone off. Know what I mean?

I'm going to be starting some other threads with a similar task for the other new slimjim materials, because its about the candidate, not the particular issue.

I don't trust anyone who blindly advocates only for mainstream or alternative medicine exclusively. There is good and bad in both and smart and savvy patients and smart and savvy doctors realize that. I hate it when people try to turn it into some sort of dichotomy. Any practitioner or company on either side that does that is doing it for financial reasons-not health reasons. We should be focusing on what works, no matter what label is attached to it. Throwing either baby out with the bathwater is silly.

That said, what if we also use the slimjim to hit up biomedical conferences as well? Do you think it is suitable?

Life Extension Foundation has quite a following--it's been around since the late 80s. I wonder if there's any way to reach out to them. I remember reading some references to RP in some of their articles, so I just did a quick search of their site for Ron Paul:

http://search.lef.org/search/default.aspx?s=1&QUERY=Ron%20Paul

P.S. LEF has joined forces with the likes of Julien Whitaker, M.D. and Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw to actually WIN cases at SCOTUS. These are the heavy weights.

These are 3 of the 5 (I believe) naturopathic medical schools in the US. The students graduate with a 4-5 year postgrad medical degree. They are licensed to practice medicine in at least 17 states including DC and many more are proposing legislation.

Hardly quacking.

And they are a relatively wealthy constituency... many of whom would probably jump at the chance to support a candidate who they see as on their side.

Quite correct. More out of pocket money is being spent by patients for alternative medicine than for the more "routine" medicine.
