Just a reminder - the Ron Paul campaign nets ZERO dollars from the 'official campaign store' for lame presentation, overpriced materials produced by Campaign Resources, Inc.

This is simply not true. The official store netted over $1 million for the campaign in 07-08.

Aren't you proving his point? If they only netted over a $1 million on the sales in all of 2008, that is a pretty sad statement. That would mean that they had sales of less than $2 million if they are actually getting the correct amount of money from the sales.

And take a look at Operation: Sign Language on IowaForRonPaul.com and see how much the signs are.
12,000 Ron Paul signs = $35,442
That is $3 a sign. That is way to high.

In September 2008, my friend and his wife ordered 2,000 signs and 1,500 wire stands from the Official Campaign:
Ron Paul for President 2008
3902 E. Wisteria Circle
Sugar Land, TX 77479

The total cost was $4,450. The signs were $1.50 and the posts were $.65 with $475 shipping. This is extremely high for that volume. That is a 50% mark up even on bulk.

I emailed a simple question to the Official Campaign: "Would they rather have a $250 donation or have me spend $400 at their store?" I never got a reply. But this answer is what is important.

I think getting your own materials at the best price is the way to go and if you want to donate money TO the ron paul campaign and allow them to use the funds as they see fit makes the most sense on all sides.

Stay grassroots on supplies but give the man the money he needs to LOOK presidential and get into everything the other candidates get into and then some. I want him to have a strong presence in ALL states compared to everyone else and that would take money BUT just get the most bang for your buck so YOU can volunteer and wake the sheep around you.

I would rather buy 2000 signs outside the campaign store and get those out there versus only being able to afford 1000 of the same signs through them. It is a numbers game and right now everyone is not only strapped for cash BUT wanting to really get out the vote this time for Ron.

Good stuff. I cringe at the 'end the fed' slim-jim though...
