Dalai Lama to Chinese Students: 'I’m a Marxist' (http://www.theblaze.com/stories/dalai-lama-to-chinese-students-im-a-marxist/)

In speaking to a group of students in Minnesota last week, the Dalai Lama cleared up any uncertainty regarding his political views. “…As far as socio-political beliefs are concerned, I consider myself a Marxist,” he told the audience.

According to Religion Dispatches, one student questioned this statement, asking if this view of the world contradict the Dalai Lama’s philosophy:

The Tibetan leader answered that the Marx was not against religion or religious philosophy per se but against religious institutions that were allied, during Marx’s time, with the European ruling class.

Interestingly, the Chinese government as it currently stands is dominated partially by Karl Marx’s theoretical constructs. This isn’t the first time the Dalai Lama has professed his belief in Marxism. Below, watch a video of the spiritual leader discuss a variety of issues pertaining to China, his political views, and the like:

Marxism hurts others which is in direct opposition to the buddist philosophy. Sorry Dali Lama, you lose.

Given how Tibet is occupied by a very totalitarian Marxist regime, this is a pretty odd view for him to hold. Could he be placating the Chinese government now that the U.S. is in danger of becoming a second class power?

"I consider myself a Marxist ... But not a Leninist"

This joker represents the warm and friendly version of Universal Equality through Universal Suffering. This guy is no friend of real liberty and freedom. I'm sure that he is on the payroll of the usual group of globalists/communists/fascists.

While I value some of the things Buddhism offers especiality its humility relative to most chest-pounding Christians, I recognize why I am not a Buddhist. All religion do not point to the same truths as I was once lead to believe. I am reminded why Marxism through the violence of government can never provide the highest state of consciousness for a society. The Dalai Lama should know better given the hell unleashed on his people. It is only through the liberation of people from our dependency on government 'playing God' can people awaken to a higher self a...nd create heaven on earth. When we deny the existence of God through our life philosophy(i.e. religion) as in the case of 'no-thingness' we fall prey to yearning for some other external entity such as government to play on our unconscious fears and desires for life to be perfect.

If you have ever watched "10 Questions with the Dalai Lama" you'll see he's just a guy. Not even a very smart guy when it comes to world affairs. It was an eye-opening movie for me.

Most people in power lust for more power and control.

They dislike the idea of liberty as it would render them virtually useless.

Wow:

"Of all the modern economic theories, the economic system of Marxism is founded on moral principles, while capitalism is concerned only with gain and profitability. Marxism is concerned with the distribution of wealth on an equal basis and the equitable utilisation of the means of production. It is also concerned with the fate of the working classes — that is, the majority — as well as with the fate of those who are underprivileged and in need, and Marxism cares about the victims of minority-imposed exploitation. For those reasons the system appeals to me, and it seems fair."

Not a surprise to me at all. The Dalai Lama position has always been a theocratic dictator who ruled over a priestly oligarchical class which held the rest of Tibet in absolute slavery.

He just doesn't like the Chinese because they are trying to get a piece of his slave pie.

evangelical Atheism spattered with sugarplum thoughts of government playing God through the ideals of Marxism seems fair... until it's actually implemented. That is when there is hell to pay for worshiping institutions derived from man and his sinful ways.
