JUNE 8 UPDATE: FORSYTHE FOR PAUL. A rising state conservative leader was announced today as the chairman of Ron Paul's New Hampshire presidential campaign.

Freshman state Sen. Jim Forsythe of Strafford is the former chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire. He easily defeated Democrat Andrew Hosmer last November to win the District 4 seat previously held by Democrat Kathleen Sgambati.

“Every candidate will be talking jobs, cuts, and taxes, but only Ron Paul has the track record to back up the rhetoric,” Forsythe, an entrepreneur and former U.S. Air Force pilot, said in a campaign announcement.

Forsythe actively supported Paul in 2008 but held no formal title. The Paul campaign had no state chairman in 2008 but instead relied on a group of county activists who took on statewide organizational roles.

Is Paul setting up a more traditionally structured organization in New Hampshire this time around?

"We're at a different starting point this time around," said spokesman Kate Schackai. "The movement has grown, and our organization is growing to meet it."

The Paul campaign also announced the addition of three NH field staffers:

- Brian Early, who will handle media affairs, is a former political reporter for the Hippo and a correspondent for New Hampshire Public Radio.

- Shaun Bowen, field representative, is a former staffer for the National Right to Work Committee and interned with Young Americans for Liberty.

- State Rep. Norman Tregenza, R-Silver Lake, is also a field staffer who was on the Paul staff in New Hampshire and Maine.

Good news?

Good news?

Norman is qualified, dedicated, and friendly, I vouch for him. I haven't met the other two you listed. Jim Forsythe is a good choice too, I believe.

I wonder if Sen Forsythe was the one that facilitated Ron's upcoming meeting with Ovide..

Do any other candidates have the official endorsement of at least two state reps in Iowa and a state senator and state rep in New Hampshire helping them??? Did Ron get this kind of support in early '07??

I met Jim Forsythe at a private RP reception for the Philly rally last election. Impressed just that he came down from NH for the Philly rally.

I was very impressed with Jim. Bright, educated, military background.

Struck me as a very focused and motivated person. Highly intelligent, but a broad thinker.

Very good choice - and especially for NH.

I agree. I think he is a prime potential liberty candidate in future national elections, if that is the route he wants to take.
