You do not even want to get me started on this. When my sons were small we bought them toy guns across state lines so they didn't have to have green and orange guns.

"If you see something that just looks like a gun, you're going to shoot," Smith said after the Glassell Park shooting. "That's what you're trained to do. Your mind doesn't have enough time to process whether it's a real gun or a fake gun."

Poor law abiding citizen with a lawful gun.

Proof that the LAPD is stupid. Threats are from the hostile intent of people, not from objects. This is evidence of very poor police training.

Criminals will paint their guns bright colors. Children's parents will buy toy guns outside of Los Angeles.

Sounds like someone here is lacking the necessary responsibility to use a firearm.

And it ain't the kids.

Good point. Don't know why these idiots can't comprehend something like this. I really wouldn't feel too bad if one of the anti-gun lawmakers was shot down on a public street with an orange tipped rifle ...

Yeah, "Be certain of your target" is a key lesson in every hunting safety course, in every CCW course, in every military bootcamp, hell, in basic martial arts classes. But with the Blue costume and a bureaucrat's signature, every police agent in the country has been given negligent supervision on the use of deadly force, whether small sidearms or chemical/electrical weapons.

I don't think it will stop until there are numerous incontrovertible incidents of cops shooting other cops. Only that will finally make the self-interested pigs wake up to what they are already doing to the general population. I wonder how many there already have been that have been covered up by being blamed on a "fleeing suspect" or some such.

It happens more often than is admitted.

None of the officers were injured by her gunfire, but Johnston was killed by the officers. Police injuries were later attributed to "friendly fire" from each others' weapons.

A.T.F. Says that these can be "converted into military grade weapons" (2:10):eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

All you have to do is remove all of the plastic and sheet metal and replace it with a real gun.

In any event, that would all be fixed if it were only a bright color.

Actually, given the power of modern radio and taser batteries, maybe the cops have good reason to fear a Super Soaker. Not to mention a rain shower...

I had neighbors arrested for supper soakers. Another neighbor called police because of a gunfight.

SWAT team came and arrested Mother ,son, a friend and uncle. Confiscated all the squirt guns and they spent several hours under arrest before being released. Cops kept the guns.

At least no one got killed.

But pointing out that the training cops are receiving is, for all intents and purposes, "shoot first and ask questions later" is just sensationalist drivel, Game.

I'm callin' yer ass out.

All kidding aside, on a serious note with a serious subject:

This is why lawful OPEN carry is so important.

To reinforce the idea that most people in this country with guns are:

A - Not cops and,

B - Not bad guys.

Stay focused. If you believe the cops are recieving improper training, you need to document your evidence and keep logs. Remember, training varies area to area, so take note of that. Contact a lawyer. Contact the Internal Affairs branch in your local area. If you want to run with this you need to do it right.

Remember, I completely agree with you that a Peace Officer or Peace Office Department that is overabusing their powers needs to be brought to justice. The difference is, you and I don't agree on how to do it. You want to disband the entire police force (in an Anarchist fashion) and have a few "Doc Holiday" Sheriffs keeping the entire country safe.

Your strategy isn't working. You seem like a somewhat intelligent guy, and I assume you can tell already that the police are here to stay. So lets get together on this one and try something that might work. If you want further advice you can always PM me. But, if you deny my advice you will find yourself becoming insane.

A well-recieved definition of insanity is doing the same the over and over again, while expecting different results.
