I believe it was a fundraiser Oprah had for Obama. About 3 million raised?

what is the number of individuals who've donated to each campaign?
this seems to be a better indicator than total dollars.

Romney probably planned that one day fundraiser for over a year. He had a convention center filled with telephones and big wigs who flew in from around the country to make phone calls to their friends.

Ebay's Meg Whitman was there I think.

At Romney's birthday party in Las Vegas earlier this year less than one hundred people showed up. Maybe only fifty people showed up.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney raised $6.5 million for his presidential exploratory committee yesterday, sending a powerful message to his potential opponents about the seriousness of his bid for the Republican nomination.

Romney gathered about 400 of his largest financial backers for an all-day call-a-thon at the Boston convention center. The group included politicians such as Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt, former Massachusetts governor William F. Weld and former lieutenant governor Kerry Healey, as well as deep-pocketed fundraisers such as Utah billionaire Jon Huntsman Sr., eBay chief executive Meg Whitman and Tennessee money man Ted Welch.

What's the largest single day amount donated on-line for a Presidential nominee who accepts donations from private individual donors only?
