IDK if this has been mentioned yet, but am I the only one who thinks this can't just be a coincidence??

It has been mentioned and it is just coincidence. Ron Paul welcomes the redistricting and appreciates the confidence the GOP has in his electoral prowess. Kucinich on the otherhand is going to do what every power hungry socialist does and flail all around and beg for a way to remain part of the elite in D.C.

I think it would be great if a liberty candidate ran and won in the new district if Ron's gets split.

Texas has grown. They had to redistrict. And I've seen far worse gerrymandering than the proposals I've encountered so far.

The Texas Senate just approved the plan last night. And Ron put out a nifty statement on it, basically saying it was a compliment that the State GOP recognized he could win whatever his district looked like so they could spend their efforts strengthening weaker districts without worrying about losing the 14th...

Yes, sorry, I didn't see this:

We've heard back from Ron Paul's spokesman. Jesse Benton said the longtime congressman takes no offense at the redistricting proposal, which would lower the GOP performance of the district considerably.

"Dr. Paul does not feel targeted, and his home county of Brazoria remains the cornerstone of the District," Benton said. "If anything, this is a compliment. The GOP knows Dr. Paul will win anywhere he runs, and that his electoral fortitude allows them to strengthen other districts and have no problems holding the 14th."

I hope Medina lives in an appropriate spot to do that. She'd be a natural with an existing base, at this point. And Ron's soon to be old constituents like her.

Pffft. I think they need to add to the total number of representatives. Put it up around 10,000 or so.

Does anyone have a map of the old vs new district for Ron?
