Being from Nevada, I wrote a letter to the editor last week about Reid's betrayal of the American people by rushing the Patriot Act through the Senate with no debate. Made the paper today in case anyone is interested. I was limited to 200 words, so I tried giving Rand's filibuster as much credit as I could with little space to write.

The Patriot Act has been a controversial law since first implemented in 2001, and the U.S. Congress has never had a serious debate regarding the issue.

I disagree.

It was only a controversial law for the masses when Bush was in office.

Obama is the messiah. The world is at peace.

Good point! I guess as long as Mr. Cool aka Obama is president, who cares if the Constitution is violated??

It can't be being violated, because Obama was a constitutional scholar and educator. He knows what it really means.

According to the comments, you should sit down and shut up just because more republicans voted yes than no. Completely sidestepping the actual point of the letter, of course.
