It looks like Rudy Giuliani might run again?

I must have been sleeping.....I never gave it consideration that he might be considering another run.

Anything to muddy the waters.

Forgive me in advance if this has been obvious all along.

....snip ] While Romney made his candidacy official in New Hampshire on Thursday, political stars Sarah Palin and Rudy Giuliani caused a stir of their own with visits to the first-in-the-nation primary state. Both made sure to assail the health care law approved while Romney was governor of neighboring Massachusetts. [snip...

About a week ago this narrative started to pick up. I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped in.

This is news that I didn't want to hear.

When is the cutoff for announcing? I've had fears that Mike Huckabee might also wait and jump in at the last minute (no matter what he said about running). I thought that this hurdle had passed.

I hope that Ru911dy Ghouli911ani does run. He will further split the douchbag neocon vote.

Actually, on Fox and Friends this am they were talking about how Huckabee is now saying that he hasn't closed the door completely on a 2012 run.

Do you mean Huckabee or Giuliani? Did we miss the chance? :)

And there it is....My idea was that he would announce that he "wouldn't run" just to build up steam from his supporters. After his supporters plead with him saying that he "has" to run, he'll jump in and make a big splash (after everyone else is old news).

I for one hope he does! Split the vote over and over and over again. Why not. they all suck. We may as well get paul or the worst of them.

Rudy would not run if he did not think terrorism would be a big issue. False Flag?

+1. Most GOP primaries are winner-take-all regarding delegates. In a 3-candidate field you need at least 34% to win; in a 10-candidate field you can theoretically win with 11%.

1) most GOP primaries are switching to proportional next year. Still, a win is a win, it keeps money flowing so more is usually better for us
but
2) Rudy is unique, his strong point is terrorism/law and order; he would only run if he thought his issue would be a top concern; just as Huck is not running because social issues are not prominent for 2012.

I have to agree with others that hope he runs. I can't imagine many Giuliani voters would be receptive to Ron's message. He probably takes largely from Romney and the more moderate seeming candidates, which ultimately makes Ron's threshold for success in the first few primaries and caucuses easier. Even without Rudy in, Romney cant's get out of the 20's. I think Giuliani would lower this total going into Iowa and make a victory there easier for us.
