I used to, but his style started to grate on my nerves, so I stopped.

Anyway, I peruse "Nealz Nuze" occasionally, and I came across this:

Quote from http://boortz.com/nuze/200710/10152007.html

OH MY GOD! NEOCONS!

I think that there is an organized campaign among Ron Paul supporters to send me emails slamming me for not supporting him. Why do I think it is organized? Because virtually every one of these emails contains the word "neocon" somewhere. Again ... I have NEVER received an email containing the word "neocon" that was worth reading. It just seems that anyone who uses that word really doesn't have much to say?

AND WHAT ABOUT RON PAUL?

When Ron Paul starts to realize and speak to the threat we face from Islamic fascism, then I'll start talking about Ron Paul. When Ron Paul sees the value in finding these Islamic goons overseas where they are and killing them here, rather than waiting until they get here, I'll start talking about Ron Paul.

Someone who listens to his show might send him this link: http://www.house.gov/paul/press/press2001/pr101101.htm

Apparently, Dr. Paul, in accordance with Constitution, submitted legislation that would give the President the proper authority to go after Bin Laden.

Maybe this escaped Mr. Boortz's attention?

Yeah, that's the sense I got from him, too...plus, he was very mean-spirited at times.

I agree with Neal. Neocon is a word used to divide people and will ultimately reduce the number of people supporting Paul. I am disappointed Paul continues to use the N word but it would help a lot if people that supported Paul understood that calling people names is not the way to attract a broader base. If you must demonstrate that you are narrow minded and have a limited vocabulary at least take the time to use the word neo-conservative. You won't sound quite as foolish.

I hate Boortz. In fact, I hate him so much I'm going to try and persuade my local talk station to replace him with Free Talk Live.

I used to love listening to Boortz for years. Ironically, it was he who first introduced me to libertarian ideology. I remember shortly after 9/11 though, he started talking about how he was SOOOO glad that the libertarian presidential candidate didn't get elected, because we wouldn't be doing anything about the attack. For a long time, I supported the war in Iraq, because the things he and others were saying about it just made sense to me. Eventually though, I finally started to open up my eyes, started looking at the other side of the arguments that I wasn't hearing from these radio guys, and I ended up on the middle of the fence.

Sadly, it was a lot of the anti-war movement that really kept me pro-war for a long time. I would honestly hear a lot of stupid and illogical things from the anti-war crowd, and then someone like Boortz or Rush can criticize them, and you think, "well ok, he's obviously right on this, look at the inability of the left to argue logically." But at the same time, something about it all just didn't seem quite right to me.

It wasn't until I was turned on to Ron Paul that I finally became really gung-ho against the war. His talk about blowback made me finally see whats really going on here.

It feels really weird now though, to be disgusted by a lot of things that Boortz says, when I used to completely agree with him on pretty much everything.

No, neocon is a real word with a real meaning.
I won't get into it all now but we're a country divided into 3 main lines of belief:

1) Neocons- Want the status quo warfare-welfare state
2) Liberals/Socialists- Want to end the war but continue the welfare state
3) Libertarians/Ron Paul Republicans- Want peace and a true free market with an end to the welfare state.

Ron Paul uses the word "neocon" all the time. There's really no other way to name that group.

Boortz just said that if he had to choose a democratic front runner he'd choose Hillary.

We have to get Ron the nomination. Boortz is all for the war. If there are no other pro Iraq war candidates in any other party, Boortz would have to support Hillary.

I'm not sure what will happen with the Constitution Party. I'm pretty sure the Libertarians will go anti war. But there is nothing I would like better than to have Boortz vote Hillary.

Actually I'd prefer him to vote for Ron.

Frackin' sellout.
