The thing is with a lot of these laws, it is not necessarily the act itself that is the problem. It is how some bureaucrat writes the corresponding administrative code for the act. The Patriot Act requires warrants or some other judicial review for almost everything provided for therein (Sec. 105 and 505 being exceptions, 505 has since been amended to provide for judicial review of NSL's). However, some authoritarian bureaucrat is able to reinterpret the statute using his imagination and can come up with some wild and wacky things.

Most cell phones, all smart phones and now tablets have GPS chips.
The new "black boxes" for cars have GPS
and for a while now, ALPR (Automated License Plate Recognition) has been around. Out here, we have pole cams at major intersections, on bridges, etc. The video below briefly mentions them and is more focused on when they are mounted on police cars. The system is the same, except for the pole cams they can track approximately where you are. The new black boxes will tell exactly where you are - or at least your car, and if you have a cell phone, etc, where you are.

You are spot on!! Just like the fin reg bill passed leaves alot of the rules/regs up to the FED and other agencies and obamacare leaves alot up to the HHS to be written/added later. This nonsense must be stopped.

Wyden should say what he knows into the congressional record; he can't be charged by any court for doing so.
