I read the article and am left scratching my head. Was that supposed to convey some message or was it just the author's airing of his' man crush on Harry Truman? Kind of bizarre.

yeah, I saw enough of what was in it from the google blurb I didn't read it.

I used to live outside of Chicago, and the best thing about the tribune is the building it is in, which has chunks of 'souveniers' from nineteenth century tourism.... stuff like chunks of the forbidden city sticking out of the walls.... a fascinating place. But not much of a newspaper.

They have one of the prettier buildings in The Loop, too. And it was worth the cover price--back when Royko was alive.
