I am a very poor small business owner who can barely get by each month, but this June 5th I will be giving Ron Paul $50.00. I know $50.00 isn't much, but it is my "fun-money" for the month and I would like Ron Paul's campaign to have it.

Chowder won't be able to donate a lot this time. It'll be just $100. Can't offer no more until Ames. I'm saving big for Ames!

Incidentally, please realize you will be helping out a great deal. "Small" donations (and $50 isn't small depending on how you're looking at it) are almost better than big ones. When the numbers come out, there is an "average donation" statistic. This is craved by politicians, because making $1,000,000 from 500 donors is not as cool as making it from 1,000 donors, or even 10,000. The more people donated to you, the more support you actually have, and the more you can continue to claim you are "of the People."

So... yeah... anything people can pitch in to the campaign is always welcome.

Would it be illegal, or simply morally reprehensible to get all eligible RP supporters to apply for welfare and just send the entire check to the campaign every month. I mean, just for the sheer irony.

Everybody who can, should MAX out at this money bomb. It could be the difference between winning the Republican nomination, or not. Ron Paul needs your money now! We need to give this campaign the confidence to proceed with all possible avenues regardless of cost. Get as many people as you can to commit to a donation as large as possible!

I think 50, which is not a lot but it's five times as much as I did for the debate. These are tough times for me, being out of school and looking for work, but I'm doing my part as we all should.

I like to point out that EARLY donations are worth 10x what they would be in December... they earn credibility, media talking points, and most importantly, can be used to build an effective organization in the early primary states. Don't leave them scrambling to try to spend the money when it's already too late to do anything but put it into radio ads. Donate early enough that it can be used to win.

So I'm in favor of donating everything available rather than saving for other events...

Where's the fun in donating a portion of each paycheck to help out a political candidate? Um, you have to ask?

The entire point is to get money to Ron Paul. I don't see holding onto it to be beneficial. He already has quite a lot of my money to spend, and that's a good thing. He would not have had it if I were trying to hold it until June 5th. The MB model used to be about getting publicity for huge donation amounts. Given that Romney already nabbed that headline this year (or are we breaking $10,000,000 this time, with little notice?), and that Ron is getting a lot more screen time than in 2008, that doesn't seem to be the goal. That is further confirmed by the sheer volume of MBs being planned.

I don't think it will be so ridiculously close that $100 or even $1,000 will make the difference. I would rather it already be in the coffers. On June 10th I will donate again. On June 17th I will donate again. You get the idea. I won't be waiting for the next MB, either.

Are you trying to be a jerk, or is that natural talent?

My questioning of your effusive adoration for the June 5th MB, and the "as many as can be done" model of MBs, has much more to do with my perception that more MBs does not necessary equal a whole lot more money coming in, nor does it achieve the supposed goal of a "bomb" which is to get recognition with bloated one-day totals.

I'll be maxing it out with $2,400 this money bomb. I've also started to buy copies of Liberty Defined for any friends who are interested in reading it. Any other suggestions?
