Is raising political funds for a candidate counter-productive to achieving liberty?

When you donate to Ron Paul, some random candidate, or a PAC, over 3/4 of that money is spent on TV ads(source 1 (http://kantarmediana.com/cmag/press/midterm-elections-track-3-billion-spending-five-questions-cmags-?destination=node%2F447%2Fpress), 2) (http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20101105/el_yblog_upshot/2010-was-a-4-billion-campaign-and-other-fun-facts-about-tuesdays-midterm-elections), which the mainstream media is pocketing. Every moneybomb is a Mainstream Media Moneybomb.

This is the same mainstream media that rationalizes murdering in the middle east and stealing the money out from our pockets. When you donate to candidates, you are giving those large media corporations the funds to extend their power, whether it be expanding their audience reach, stopping competition, or spending on their own candidates/lobbyists.

Instead of being donated, millions of dollars could be invested in starting/helping new businesses change our environment from recession to prosperity. As an entrepreneur/investor, you really could be the change that you want to see in the world.
