Ruling Class update: Congress members use insider trading to enrich themselves

With the government more and more entrenched in the economy, is it any wonder that Congresspeople can pick stocks when they know what legislation they are going to pass that will change industries?

Well, they shamelessly profit from it.

I'm wearing out "Some animals..."

The rationale is that requiring lawmakers to divest their economic holdings would “insulate a legislator from the personal and economic interests that his/her constituency, or society in general, has in governmental decisions and policy,” according to the House ethics manual.

Um, isn't that kind of the point?

I don't want any government "servants," of any capacity, to be free to let their portfolios influence decisions allegedly made on my behalf.

The unmitigated gall of these f'n people...

This ^ along with our objection to the Inflation Tax is why we are all portrayed as crazy people. The "Nobel Lie" (glorify government lies so the elite can manipulate the masses) is still alive and well.

When we win ... and we will win ... they lose their privileged positions.

Honest Sound Money FTW!

Vox Day: Corrupt like a senator (http://voxday.blogspot.com/2011/05/corrupt-like-senator.html):

Public Enemy had it right. Congress is shamelessly crooked. This also explains why they behaved in such a shamelessly slavish manner towards Wall Street when their supposed masters, the American public, were vehemently against TARP and the bank bailouts:
[...]
It's that last sentence that shows America is not only dead, but well into a state of rigor mortis. Congressman are not only breaking the law, they have openly declared themselves to be above the law as well. And they are getting away with it.

"It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress."

Paraphrased from the movie Will Rogers Goes to Washington:

Wall St. has no more interest in Congress than Babe Ruth has in baseball.
