I don't trust sites like that, mostly for the reasons already suggested.

I avoid sending anything across any network (Internet, cell phone, whatever) that I wouldn't want the piggies to read. But if I absolutely had to communicate privately over the Internet, I think steganography (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steganography) would be the way to go. Post some pics on a public photo-sharing site and have some manner (agreed to in advance) of letting the recipient of your communication know which photo has your secret message hidden in it.
