Laura Ingraham told Mike Pence on the air this morning that a source in Texas who’s tapped into political circles insists that Perry will announce his candidacy in the coming days.

Hm.

Texas Governor Rick Perry isn't what he seems, for though he promotes himself as a conservative, he is anything but.

Rick Perry. No two words other than these can spark the ire, or even alarm, of informed Texans and other Americans when considering that the Texas Governor, a Republican, might toss his Stetson into the 2012 Presidential ring. Perry is the 47th Lone Star governor and holds the record for the longest gubernatorial tenure in Texas history. The reasons for the ire and alarm are Perry's presentation of himself as a fiscal and social conservative. The facts point a different direction.

I have been telling you guys that he is going to run, and he is a good politician. He will vault to front runner status quickly. The only one I am afraid of, not Palin, not Bachmann, not Romney. Rick has better hair than Romney, will attrack the evangelicals like Huckabee, will pull from the Tea Party like no one else in the race, even more so than Bachmann and will have the support of the establishment.

Perry can't have evangelicals, because we'll play the Gardasil card.

ugh. My father-in-law likes Ron Paul but says he "can't win." Then he goes on and on about Rick Perry. I told him Perry is a bilderberger and a globalist to which he replied, "What's a bilderberger?" We have a lot more educating to do.

Good lord go back and watch the Gov debates last year. Rick Perry is just awful. I think he might be dumber than W too. The country will get the president they deserve.

Dude, you had the opportunity to talk to a potential GOP voter about why Rick Perry is bad, and you went straight to "Bilderberg"? That's a sure way to marginalize yourself....there are plenty of things he likely cares about that you could slam Perry on (taxes, abuse of eminent domain, his slush fund for big businesses....)

I have a feeling he's in. That's our biggest threat right here. He will be the front runner in no time

Concern about Bilderberg and Trilateral Commission are fringe, regardless of their importance. Hit people on things that are important to them, not things important to you.

How many times has Ron Paul called anyone a "Bilderberger" in a debate? If he were to do so, how many votes do you think he would win?

I think you people need to realize how less effective calling people bilderberger's is than actually talking about issues..

I agree. The general population has no clue what Bilderberg is.

You can do it all day long and they will still vote for him. They do in Texas.

I told him about those issues as well, but I don't think it hurts for him to know what the bilderbergers are all about.

However, I will concede that when reaching out to the general public, mentioning the bilderbergers does come across as too fringe. He's my other dad, though. Just trying to get him up to date.

Tell your Dad that today a credible poll came out and Ron had two and a half times the vote share Perry did -- in TEXAS.

Or they just think 'conspiracy theory nut' and stop listening.
