Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani isn't just thinking about running for president next year: It's his obsession and he's already mapping out a strategy to knock off GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney in New Hampshire.

According to a long-time supporter, New York Rep. Peter King, running and winning this time is "almost a full-time business for him."

What's more, adds King, Giuliani has already been "talking to people in New Hampshire" about his strategy to focus all his early attention there, not the Iowa caucus, because beating Romney in the former Massachusetts governor's political backyard will propel the New Yorker's candidacy into the next two showdowns in South Carolina and Nevada.

"He would focus on New Hampshire almost entirely," said King at a Monday night dinner organized by the conservative American Spectator magazine. "He is very close to running."

Well good if they fight it out over NH then we can focus on Iowa. With maybe a third place showing in NH and a win in Iowa would be pretty great.

When I read that Giuliani was considering the race, my heart leapt with joy. He's not stealing a single vote from us, that's for sure.

I might fire off an email encouraging his run.

Considering the latest poll put Romney at 32% and Paul at 9%, I don't think it would hurt for Gulliani to siphon off a few votes from Romney. Losing 27-15 isn't nearly as bad as 32-15.

I agree guys, If Rudy runs we don't lose a single vote and it further divides the neocons. Run Rudy Run!

This would be very good news for RP, neocon vote will be divided in NH. If neocon vote is divided 3 or more ways, RP could take top slot in NH.

Go away Guiliani. No one ever liked you. You are the epitome of everything wrong with politics today and the polar opposite of Dr. Paul.

I'm not the biggest cheerleader, but come on! Look at it as being easier to overcome a 12 point gap than a 17 point gap.

Ron in second and Ron in third..... I'd rather have second. Even so, it will be what it will be. I can't imagine who would donate to him, though after he spent $55 million for a single delegate last time.
