In the name of the drug war...of course.

Prepaid cards attract money launderers

A cash-less society has always been their goal. Cash=anonymity=privacy. That is not allowed in the police state.

So when drug lords decide to pay their underlings in Chucky Cheese giftcards, what then? Oh that's right, DEA/TSA task forces handing out the tokens to the kiddies.

Couldn't be as simple as destroying the black market by ending the federal drug war could it? Nah....

I don't use those anyhow! :p (But I consider it sometimes..so this would suck if they were banned.)

a ban on prepaid cards effects even those who don't use them; many businesses now are credit card mandatory, credit cards are becoming harder to get, so those businesses would be cut off from some of their market.
