Says he would cut spending instead of raising the debt ceiling. This is an interesting move for a former Fed guy, and someone that most here would view as an insider.

"Let me tell you what the Cain Doctrine would be: We ain't raising the debt ceiling," he said, to loud cheers. "We are going to cut cut the spending."

Not being in office he doesn't have to say and pass what he'd cut and it is what the tea party wants to hear. He is saying what the tea party wants now, which conflicts with his record. At the time he was a TARP cheerleader, now says he 'doesn't like how it was implemented' after first trying to pass off his old statements as being taken out of context. He now says he wants an audit, before said it wasn't necessary and was kooky (essentially) to ask for -- just call them up and ask!

The man is a fraud, so the positions he takes at the moment are not indications of where he might be a year from now, much less when crises hits.
