If you are interested, please go to this thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?292872-RP-Booths-at-Iowa-County-Fairs

The subforum system makes sure a thread doesn't fall off the page but also isolates threads so those 'waiting to be told where the need is' don't see them when there is a need.

Hundreds of thousands of people go to these county fairs and they were used very effectively in Rand's campaign. We need to get chip ins for the booths and materials such as fans/wristbands/water bottles (w/rp labels etc) and need people to staff booths. For many of these fairs colleges will be out of session and it is harder to get volunteers in the summer for that reason.

Out of staters willing to drive in to help staff a fair can help out here, too.

If you are interested, please say so at the thread above and keep track of it in the Iowa straw poll forum.

BUMP!

We need to hit these County Fairs. I'm trying to clear my schedule and save some money to make it out this Summer.

This was VERY effective in Kentucky for Rand Paul... just another of those little pebbles that helps start the avalanche. Such efforts are totally worthwhile!

This is a huge project that would pay massive dividends if pulled off. I would love to see 2 or so people per fair. Or at least get someone at most of the fairs.

We need volunteers to do contact work!

Great kudos, but we need DOERS!

Have the Iowa Meetups and FB groups been contacted?

The Iowa meetup head is the one asking for help.

I seriously suggest out-of-staters do not staff these booths.

If they have a choice but if they don't.... I don't think they can be that picky right now. They need people to staff.

it would be nice if we had that luxury, but we dont.

Certainly I would be interested in chipping in and staffing with others in close by county fairs in July.

Thanks, could you put that in the thread in the OP?

Got you down. Thanks Badger Paul.

And I posted this on a couple of C4L sites and facebook messaged some local and neighboring state YAL leaders. We are slowly building up steam, but we need a lot more volunteers.

And yes, out of staters are definitely welcome in this native Iowan's opinion. Its a booth at a fair, so its not like we are having a rally and screaming at people. We'll take all the help we can get.

Also, getting this going for state fairs in other early states would probably be good, too. I don't know if any other state loves their county fairs as much as Iowa, but every state has at least one decent state fair, right?

Bump for volunteers.

The fairs most in need are the ones listed in red in the first post, but any fair you can make it to would be helpful:

Some numbers:

Average attendance at many of these fairs is ~30,000.

If Dr. P is polling at 10%, that means ~3,000 existing Ron Paul voters at any given fair.

If even half of them walk by the booth and sign up for the bus emails that could potentially mean ~1,500 more votes in the Ames straw poll. For 4 days of work.

This is an incredible opportunity. Please please consider taking a few days off work and coming to Iowa this summer!

Please see this thread for more info, or just PM me.
