Despite preparations, believers of apocalypse shocked when doomsday time passes without incident (http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2011/05/21/2011-05-21_despite_preparations_believers_of_apocalypse_sh ocked_when_doomsday_time_passes_w.html)

The sky turned dark Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't a sign of the world's impending doom - just passing rain.
Welcome to the No-pacalypse - a disappointing finish to what doomsday believer Robert Fitzpatrick thought would be the End of Days.

"I don't understand why nothing has happened," a deflated Fitzpatrick said in Times Square just after 6 p.m. "I did what I had to do. I did what the Bible said."

"I obviously haven't understood it properly, because we're still here," added Fitzpatrick, 60, surrounded by a phalanx of reporters and skeptical onlookers.

"I'm tired," Fitzpatrick said when asked how he felt. "I was working hard trying to get the word out. I'm very surprised. I fully expected that something would happen."

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity [lawlessness].

What I hate even more than the fact that this guy is a nut is that he is a nut with national attention. These people give Christians a bad name, and they're usually the ones that atheists use as their prime example of a nutcase. It's rather selfish to believe that, somehow, God would appoint you to know when the endtimes would occur. He is obviously very deluded and has trusted his interpretation for a long time, but it's not because his 'calculations' were off. It's because he can't know. Nobody can. I wish he would realize he is doing a disservice to Christianity by spewing this nonsense. If the endtimes are near, it's not going to just seem like a normal day. Idiots have been predicting the end of the world for centuries, millenia even; and yet, people are still willing to stick their neck out and promptly have it chopped off. They are the idiots, and they are given the platform to speak for their whole religion. It's just insane and it's not right.

Deflated and disappointed that the end of the world didn't happen? If you need a definition of insanity, that sounds like a good one.

I kind of feel bad for him, really. He should have just stayed hidden and let everyone think he got raptured.

He looks exactly like my old math teacher.

Watch towards the end how high and mighty the news people think they are. I would have given them a piece of my mind.

How come religion doesn't get taxed? Its all about money with these guys and has nothing to do with spirituality.

I'm not a Christian, but these guys haven't tainted my view of Christianity. The Bible clearly states that no one shall know the day or the hour. Every group, religious or not, has a few nuts.

Doomsday Prophets Beware!

http://thenewamerican.com/images/stories2011/08aMay/sun-ap.001.jpg

Once again a false prophet (Harold Camping) has presumed to name the date and time of the rapture, Jesus' return, and the end of the world.

There is nothing wrong with making money, even if it is with ideas you disagree with. If people want to buy Harold Campings dumb books and believe all his lies, then what is wrong with that voluntary exchange? Why would you want the government to start penalizing thoughts through taxation?

How come Religions can't get political or get involved in politics (501c3).

Connect those two things together and you'll have your answer.
