Hoping we don't, but if we polled high enough would the msm be forced to allow us in the debates as a third party?

Too far in the future. Talk about it as it comes up.

MSM isn't forced to do anything, and if Paul doesn't do well in the primary, I can't imagine he'll win the GE barring a streak of scandals and both Two Party candidates doing extremely negative campaigns against each other while Ron runs a wholly positive campaign.

What are you saying? :)

Ron has said time and again that the Republican Party is the way to go. There is virtually no chance he runs Third Party. We can debate whether that is good or bad, but in reality, Ron won't do it.

Answering hypotheticals while not talking about the likelihood of it happening.

if the 10% support holds, and is enhanced to maybe 15% the nomination is within reach.

15% support can easily translate to 30% of the vote, given the enthusiastic support RP has. and 30% could win the nomination.

but there should be a plan B

If he can't win the primary he can't win the general election. The other two candidates would be just too well entrenched. At that point any money we give to Dr. Paul's campaign would be good money thrown after bad. He's not going to waste our money when we need it most.

If ron paul loses the primary I am going to vote for a 3rd party. I think that is the only viable option to send the republican party a message that you elect liberty candidates or you're going to lose a big chunk of your base. It's as simple as that.

You have to include incremental costs into any smart business decision. Incremental costs include opportunity costs. The opportunity costs of Ron going Indy means Rand could lose his nomination in 2016.

You would have to be stupid to ask Ron to go independent so all the progress we've made will be gone and all republicans will feel betrayed, and no libertarian candidate will have a shot in the republican party for 20 years.

I'll vote for the Libertarian candidate, as usual.

seems to me that the laws in most states say you can't run in the primary AND then appear on the ballot in the general election as a third party candidate. everybody forget about this 3rd party bull.... it's win the primary or bust as previously mentioned!
